Police in Oxford said a 1-year-old child was pronounced dead at McCullough-Hyde Hospital after stepping in front of a moving sport utility vehicle on Friday.
Oxford Police Department 911 operators received several calls at about 4 p.m. reporting a child struck by a vehicle. An officer in the neighborhood was at the scene within minutes.
The officer said the child was struck by the SUV driven by Randalla C. Wright. The 1-year-old was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Police said an investigation determined that the child's mother momentarily left the infant and two older siblings on the sidewalk in the 130 block of Michelle Drive while she was talking to a school bus driver.
That's when the 1-year-old left the sidewalk and was struck.
Wright is being detained by OPD on charges of driving under suspension and a warrant issued by Fairfield Municipal Court.
The incident remains under investigation, and additional charges are pending.

Wonder what she is wanted for in Fairfield? I remember her now when she was a child. Her mother was a loud mouthed loser. This girl probably didn't stand a chance.

Confirmed sources say she was not passing a school bus. That does NOT excuse the fact that her license was revoked and had no business driving anything. She needs to spend time in Jail for sure.

It was an accident after all whether she was un licensed or not. This accident affects many lives in addition to the child. Sad situation.

you dont pass a stopped school bus for any reason, so no it wasnt an accident. her mother is also int he union county jail for b and e as well as her grandfather for being a pervert.. what a messed up family.

let me tell yall something i was there when it happened.. and it was a accident..... its not at all what the papers or the news says happened.. it was a complete accident......But ask ur self this where was the mother and why was the child left alone on the other side of the street....i feel sorry for both the mother and randalla......accidents do happen and it could of happened to anyone..

randalla was found guilty, she got 8 years for vehicular homicide, her mother got 8 years for b and 3, her grandpa is still in the liberty jail for molesting his own nephew...WOW!!!!

the grandfather was lied on by his daughter terri,she ovrdosed and killed her mom,she turned off her air and od her on morphine,now shes trying to kill the dad,police told this but liberty cops to lazy to investagate,need to dig up her mom that will prove it,no autopsy ever done,the daughter terri marcum is a killer,liberty police dont do there job.what a fd up town.lets see the real justice done for joan,lock up terri marcum,she even burnt her house down for the insurance money,took out there good stuff and let the rest burn.do your job liberty and quit sweeping the bad under the rug and o your job liberty police.wht a poor excuse for a so called church town,more like kill someone and they hide it so the town dont look bad.autophsy will prove she killed her mom,then you will see the dad is innosent.the daughter sandy is guilty and so is randella.now thy need terri on murder charges.
