We have only been in the community for about 6 yrs. I have always thought it to be a small rural town with good morals & values.
Recently I have been very disappointed. Spirit of Light.....psychic fairs?????? What has been allowed into our community?
Recently I was in the library and our Christian Fiction section is now called Gentle Fictions.
Seriously I am truly concerned about the "overtake" of our comminity. Does this bother any others that live in Liberty?

Every religion deserves to be a part of any community. Times are changing. Just because a book section was renamed doesn't mean it's any different. It makes the section open to all people without the "Christian" subtype. Maybe, just maybe, with the new name individuals of other "religions/beliefs" will more likely check the section out?

At least the Spirit of Light pays taxes on their business, unlike the Christian churches who are tax exempt. Open your mind, not everyone shares your religious beliefs. They deserve to express those beliefs without being harassed by the likes of you.

@Occult ~ thank you for being courteous in your response. Though we may disagree on some things
it was kind of you to not attack.

You should probably be more concerned with the heroin that is infesting Liberty more than the freedom of religion..

@concerned:

Speaking of being attacked, that is exactly what you did in your very first post. You attacked Spirit of Light and the fact the Christian section was renamed. Christianity isn't the only beleif out there and there is no "right" beleif. It all boils down to following a book of stories. If you find meaning from them that helps you live happily, then all the more power to you but don't chastize those who don't follow your same path. No path is the correct path on the religious trails.

Remember, Jesus was not Christian....only his followers were Christian. Jesus was Jewish. So, the Christian Fiction Section has been renamed to encourage others that would NOT read a Christian book to read one that has no sex, or foul language. Hence GENTLE fiction. There are many people out there that would not read a Christian book (myself included), but would read a clean book.

I believe the drug problem in Liberty should be addressed more than an area in the library being renamed...heroin is taking over the town and ruining many lives

moreserious....
They will worry about it when it touches their homes, but until that happens it won't be spoke of, like it doesn't exist!
