Just a FYI. Pumphrey Farms, Greensburg/Decatur County sent certified letters to local landowners concerning a CAFO (hog confinement)they want to construct at 600 N and 650 W in Posey Township. The southwest wind will engulf Bentonville with toxic fumes.
Stay tuned!

Thank goodness, its not by my neighborhood. I am sure the mayor will have the waste brought to town to be put on all public areas and create a tax for the biannual application.

ABSOLUTELY ALL farm subsidies should be eliminated. It is just another entitlement/welfare program.
Estimate below: 1.7 million! This is just a drop in the bucket! Chicken feed if you will!

http://www.riverlaw.us/legalactions.html this is not the link I meant but its the same Taylor company and deals with the issue . A new organism was created in a pond of piss/shit and the pond broke and spilled all the way to the ocean . A local lady Kary ? addressed this issue before the commissioners a few years ago . They wanted a CASO along Snyder road I think . I like pork but the GMO hogs taste like cardboard today .

When the residents of DeKalb County, Ill., approved 115 wind turbines in 2009, they insisted on a property value guarantee from the developers, FPL Energy Illinois Wind, LLC.
In the event property owners there can’t sell their homes for the appraised value, the wind energy company will provide the difference between the sale price and the appraised value at closing.
This is what the county should require of a CAFO owner for property within a three mile radius because the surrounding property value will definately be affected.

You people need to move to town, Oh by the way there are plenty of empty houses there. Where are these farmers suppose to raise pigs in town? I bet you this farmer pays more taxes than any of you complaining, and unlike many in this county he does pay them. People we don't want our food coming from overseas. This town needs all the tax revenue it can get or are still you waiting on Carbon Motors to save the Day! Farmers pay majority of the taxes in this county give them a break....

This is NOT welfare or entitlement. If people like you worked one day as a farmer, you would realize how thankless and how expensive it is to feed the mouths of America. I hope you are not making such comments with your mouth full!

Better make a trip to the courthouse Brad, the majority of the tax base comes from residential tax base, not ag. Farmers are a vital part of our existence, as is the petrol. Industry, the manufacturing sector, etc.
