Thank you for your coverage during the outbreaks of these tornados. I live in West Columbia and fortunately did not experience any of the bad weather but by watching your coverage I was able to prepare myself in case a tornado came my way. My prayers go out to the people who experienced the worst of these storms.

I was in St. Matthews at the Calhoun House of Pizza when this storm ripped through town...it flickered the lights first and then a few minutes later finally sent them off for good...come to find out it had busted about five or six utility poles down Sikes Road...not far from where we were...

My husband was outside at the start of this and when he came back in the wind started whipping around and knocking the vases and stuff off the tables...you could see that the storm was passing through as it did this...

Our waitress tried to shut the door after the door had been blown open but it was ripped out of her hands apparently and she was pelted with sideways rain...

What time was this? I live in the Athens School Road area and we got pelted with hail. After the hail storm, I went outside and heard what sounded like a VERY loud plane and thought what the heck is a plane doing flying in weather like this. And then I realized it was the wind.

Yeah, it was really weird because, when I venture outside, the wind wasn't blowing at all, but I could hear one heck of a wind blowing off in the distance. I couldn't tell which direction because of all the trees around my area and I'm not sure which direction, but it was very loud. I've never experienced anything like that.

I pray that everyone is helped in the ways they need to be and am thankful that no lives were lost. I live in Sumter and we were blessed. All we had was rain, some wind and a little bit of thunder. We sat glued to the TV watching and listening. We had everything planned out if we got a warning but thank the good Lord we didn't! God bless you all!

Yeah, it's kind of hard to stomach flippant remarks about someone losing their home. Saturday was bad, and it's not like it was their fault.

Daily Horoscope for January 5

Libra

Don't put yourself through anything that isn't absolutely necessary, Libra. After all, why cook when others will gladly serve you at their house, or treat you to a wonderful meal at your favourite restaurant? Even when you assert yourself, there seems to be a wonderfully passive quality to your manner. Now that the universe has finally decided to give you some of what you want, make sure your wish list is short and don't be greedy.
