Hello me and my family are thinking about moving to lexington I was wondering if anyone might be nice enough to tell me a lil about it.
Are schools there good
How is the crime rate
How are the jobs there
Are the people pretty friendly
Is it a good placeto have ur own business
How is the housing market

Thanks to anyone that responds

I went and graduated to Lexington High...didnt like it. Its more of a penitentiary than a high school. County schools probably better.

On the friendlinest counter......we're pretty nice people, everyone ive encountered is nice.....im a nice person aswell.

For other stuff...hopefuly someone else will comment

Answers to all your questions. Please, don't make a mistake.
You will become very unhappy with your move to N.C.

Lexington is much better than it was years ago. It once had a reputation has a redneck/biker type town. I live in the Northern Davidson area and have really come to love Lexington. The downtown area is very nice with sidewalk rest/cafes. The people are friendly. It has changed lot since the redneck Sheriff Hege days. I really enjoy going there now. As far as schools I only know about the county schools, but they seem about average with the rest of the state. Jobs? There are no good ones left. Lexington once had thriving factories, but all of that is gone. Not Lexington's fault...just the ecnonomy. The good part is Lexington is close enough to work in Winston-Salem, Greensboro or even Charlotte. That is the beauty of Lexington...it is right in the middle of bigger metrom areas. I think you will like it!

I lived in Lexington for a year. It sucked. I would not recommend it. Nothing to do, nowhere to go, nothing. And the people are either retarded or fat. And also everyone there goes and tells whatever you say to everyone else. No one can keep a secret or a friend's confidence.

It was hell and I will never go back.
