I am sure the man in Stokes County simply wanted to re-use the material and did not realize that it was toxic.
Gotta leave disposal of the toxic material to the experts.

Z-force, you are dreaming. Everyone knew what they were doing. There were no mistakes ... except for being caught red-handed.

Toxic Fred is right. There is no telling how much of this is going on around our state. Contractors are dumping toxic and harmful debris in private dumping holes to avoid the tipping fees at landfills. This contractor got caught red handed, because a citizen had the presence of mind to observe what was going on, report it, and follow up on it. I commend our Town Manager for protecting our citizens!

The folks from DENR want this thing to be buried. I think Homer just exposed the tip of the iceberg. This illegal dumping is happening everywhere, and all you have to do is follow the money to see why. It's crooked as hell!

This was exposed by a neighbor not the town of Walnut Cove. The town manager has just grabbed the moment to be in the lime light. The epa runs the show on the clean up,no one else.

Homer should be honored for protecting this town. If not for Homer, they would not have agreed to remove this toxic waste. DENR was letting these crooks off of the hook. Poison the water and this town would be closed down. Homer knows his responsibilities and handles them well. He has a difficult task making up for all of the slackness and corruptness of others that preceded him. Walnut Cove is lucky to have Homer as Town Manager.

The issue was originally exposed by a neighbor, but Homer followed through with it and stood up for the Town. I am most impressed. If you have doubts, you should request copies of emails from the Town regarding this mess. Homer Dearmin really followed through and made sure this was not just swept under the rug.

You should write for the stokes paper both of you do well making up stories. Wait, you might already be doing that.

Duped, Sadly you cannot make this stuff up. This is happening daily all over North Carolina and will continue. This is business as usual.

Downhill from Toxic Dump

You all may say what you wish, but MY LAND is Downhill of this Toxic Dump. What if it were your land values? Mickey Gray Watson the owner of the property on Fowler Road in Walnut Cove is also the owner of Mickey Gray Watson Construction and along with Webb Harrell Construction, who deals in removal of asbestos, etc. KNEW WHAT THEY WERE HAULING. As soon as Mickey Gray Watson got that land he graded over on my land clearing approx. 15-20ft x 175ft of MY PROPERTY. Not Only damaging my property and my privacy, he also created run-off onto My Property. When I kindly approached him of my concern, his reply was; They will do what the hell they want to on their farm, it was nothing but trees. When I reminded them I was a tree-hugger and that was my privacy, Mickey said I was just being a B**ch. I called the County, then the State and Matt Osborne came out and as soon as he saw the conditions, his response was ..."Oh ...now I see your concern" Osborne left to file an NOV (Notice of Violation) from the State of NC against Mickey Gray Watson. Watson side-stepped any fines by listing the land as Agricultural. Osborne told me there was one thing in Watson doing so. Watson WOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO PLACE A HOME ON THE PROPERTY and If I saw a house going up ...or a drive to a house, to call him and he would be back. My question is for him to run construction equipment out of that property all day and all week, week after week, month after month, how is this allowed when he has listed it for Agriculture. WOULD YOU WANT THE RUN-OFF? WOULD YOU WANT TO HEAR AT MINIMUM OF 50 DUMPTRUCKS A DAY RUNNING IN AND OUT? YOU LIVE NEXT TO THIS AND KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT.
Toxic Fred is close on this one and so is carters. z-force Don't be so sure YOU DON'T KNOW WATSON. He has No Respect for Others Property and I say it's all about the money on this one.
