Belding was on probation so the judge set the bail high? There is something wrong with this judge. How about keeping the kid in jail for breaking his probation. Then when his trial comes around for this toss him back in jail again. NO probation.

i didnt think it was possible for this kid to look any worse in my eyes. part of me kinda pitied him because even tho he killed my friend and seriously hurt one of my other friends hes just a child. then i read this article. im disgusted that this kid didnt do jail time for all his past deeds. SERIOUSLY HE HIT A PERSON AND TOOK OFF! because he didnt want his friend to know his sister was in the car. ARE YOU t KIDDING ME!? THEY BOUGHT THAT CRAP?! and let him go with just a 400 dollar fine and probation? he could have killed someone! not to mention HE GOT CAUGHT WITH DRUGS WILE ON PROBATION! did i misinturpert something here like what the hell. this kid is a menace.

Maybe if Belding had his license taken away after he hit and run after a bicycling accident and got with marijuana in his car, my friend would still be alive.

Belding was definitely fit to be driving!!!!

What's the point of having laws to get unsafe drivers off the road if they're ignored?

Actually Concerned... His license was suspended. That was why the accident happened in the first place--Belding was fleeing from cops trying to pull him over for driving with a suspended license.
I do not understand how $10,000 is 'high' for someone involved in a hit and run, known for possession of drugs, killed a person, and injuring four (1 from the hit and run, 3 from the last accident). Clearly this guy holds no regard to the law, how do they know he won't make bail and drive himself home? How many more people does Belding have to put in danger, injure, or kill before justice is served?

This is Mass. We should of sent this kid to the Shawsheen Tech and told him that he was bad. Thanks to this Judge who finally figured out that this kid is dangerous and should rot in jail where he cant hurt people that actually follow and abide by the laws. Where is this kids parents?? Hey Belding, guess what, your an idiot, for not taking the breaks you got from the first Judge that let you out the first time. Well, I guess now you wont be able to watch the Disney Channel in the Cambridge Jail.

LOL!!! That's funny!

Did you happen to notice that this is a Massachusetts case? Are you aware of the Liberal history of the Mass. Criminal Justice System? This kid only killed 1 person and although he had drugs in his car, there wasn't enough to kill a herd of buffalo so that will likely be dropped. They are going to plea bargain this down and this kid will never see a day behind bars. Probation is about all that he'll get. He'll probably violate it like he did the first time. But, that's not going to matter. Why do you think he didn't take it seriously the first time?

Prime example is the Brockton case about 3-4 years ago where the 40 something year old man had 12 OUI arrests and 2 of them resulted in a death. He lost his license (not permanently), got 9 months in a House of Correction and Probation after he served his time. They also made him go to Alcohol counseling (again). What does someone need to do in MA before the court system serves justice?

So "NO Probation"???

He may not get probation and if he does, it won't matter anyway.

Did I mention that I have no faith in the MA Criminal Justice System?:)

Sadly this is more proof that suspending a license sometimes is just not enough. This kid never should have been on probation. If he was kept in jail this would not have happened.

Massachusetts needs judges who are more strict. Sadly in a one party state dominated by liberal democrats we end up with pansy judges.

getting a first time license in MA is an expensive venture for the teens. I wonder where this kid got the money to get the license and vehicle?

Mom?

Of course, this kid should not have been shown leniency after a hit and run with bodily injury and property damage. License suspension is really a joke, cause a kid who is going to drive off after hitting a bicyclist will think NOTHING of driving unlicensed.

Seen it time and time again. Massachusetts needs to stand tough on these crimes or start making way for more cemetaries.
