Any suggestions on a great doctor for pregnancy? Which hospital is the best or worst?

Don't go to UK. Go to St. Joe or Central Baptist.

I just had a baby at Central Baptist and could not have asked for a more wonderful experience. My doctor was AMAZING. Her name is Dr. Bain and she is at the Women's Care Center at Central Baptist Hosptial. I was a high risk pregnancy and she cared for me better than I could have ever hoped. Me and the baby are both doing wonderful. She is especially great during labor. Very intelligent, knows what she's doing, actually cares for her patients and makes you feel comfortable. If and when I am blessed with another child, I pray that she is my doctor again. HIGHLY recommend!

I've had two babies a St Joe. My Dr is Dr Sharon Steele. Her office is just out to the Left of the Hospital. The staff at SJE are wonderful they actually saved my babies life 5 months ago. Things went wrong and my nurse took charge and kept my son's heartbeat up until they got me into the room to preform an emergency c section and stayed 3 hours after her shift to make sure I was ok and that my son who went to nicu for four days was ok. Dr. steele is wonderful I know 3 other people that have gone to her as well.

I had my daughter at UK and son at Patty A Clay. Ide never go back to Patty A Clay. My daughter is 24 and son is 19. Yes I know hospitals change a lot in that many years, but I still hear horror stories about Patty A Clay. You hear horror stories about UK too of course, you do about all of them. However think of this. UK has that wonderful neonatal unit that has saved so many babies lives. No matter where you have your child at, if something goes wrong with a child during the delivery and they need good help and hospital equipment quick, where do the send the baby? Usually UK because they are equipped to deal with those things. So why not cut out the middle man and I know nothing is probably going to happen. Just my personal opinion that I would rather have my baby at Uk ( if I could still have any, which I can not because I had THAT plumbing fixed) so that if something went wrong everything they need is right there within reach pretty much.

You are right I had forgotten about them. My sons nephew was born there. I had forgotten for the only time I ever went there for myself was when I tripped on something and pulled muscles in my back lol, far from being pregnant :))

I had my baby at Central baptist, and really liked it there. My doctor was Randal Owen, right by Central Baptist. I really like him and if I have another baby I will go to him again.

I just had a baby at St. Joe and I loved it there! My doctor was Elizabeth Elkinson and she was really good. She called me after hours to see if I was okay and came in early to the hospital every morning to check on me. I can't wait until they open the new maternity hospital. I'm going to get pregnant just for that! LOL, jk

Central Baptist has the best, most caring nurses. I go to Dr. Youkilis and he is fantastic.

I heard that central baptist has the best maternity care in the state. And they just revamped their maternity ward to make it easier on everyone.

Horror stories, you should read some of the posts about Pikeville Medical Center(the nations finest hospital). So bad it has a lot of Pikeville residents making the 2.5 hr trip to Lexington. But they are quick to claim all Hospitals are like that. That all of them send people home with broken limbs then call back in a day or two to ask you to come back in.

DO NOT GO TO SAINT JOSEPH HOSPITAL. I worked at the main campus for over four years when i decided i couldnt handle that place anymore. They allow too many things go on that shouldnt, including insurance fraud. That is another story in which, they will eventually get caught. My younger sister is 18 years old and had her baby there about 6 months ago. I will be the first to admit the father of the baby does not come from much and isnt the smartest one of all, but that gives no one the right to talk down to anyone. My sisters experience of bringing her first child into this world is something SHE WILL NEVER FORGET! The entire time we were there the babys father was belittled. The nurses and the doctors made nasty remarks towards him. Saying "Do not come near this side of the room, your clothes look filthy" The nurses gave him rude looks every time he tried to ask a question. At one point the nurse even said I dont have time to answer ur questions. I will answer them tomorrow. The nurses took so long to check on her that they almost couldnt give her an epidural because they waited too long. The worst of all is when she actually delivered the baby. DR PASCUZI is the RUDEST, NASTIEST, AND MOST UNPROFESSIONAL doctor i have EVER met. The babies father asked a question and the dr looked at the nurse (while delivering the baby), laughed and said is he serious. Is he actually related to to the family. The nurse followed by saying yea thats the one i was telling you about. She then proceeded in telling the Dr she won the bet apparently they had made while laughing. My younger sister cried the entire time after her baby was delivered. It seriously broke my heart to see how cruel people can be.
