Really? I live on Camelot and don't get any government assistance. In fact, most of my neighbors are voting for Romney. It's not the best neighborhood, but it's not what you described either.

I've been in that store before and most of the folks who shop there come from over in the Camelot Rd.(section 8) area. Yeah I've noticed all the people who park in the NO PARKING zone and walk in or let their kids run wild. The store doesn't suck, but a lot of the people that shop there are definitley in the entitlement living off the government types.
From the way you described it sounds like she was just asking a question and you got all bent. You acting the way you did DID NOT help the situation did it. It escallated the problem.

Do your neighbors own their homes? If so, are they concerned at all about Romney refusing to answer whether one of the tax deductions he plans to eliminate on his first day is home mortgage interest? I am. During a short period of time that I didn't have a mortgage, I owed over $2,000 more on my tax that year.

I agree with the person that posted this thread, if it were up to me there would be no self-checkouts. I hate them and they were borned out of cheap businesses that are trying to get the customer to do their job for them.
Yes, if I were in this persons place, I would have thrown a fit.

Some of them do. I don't know if they know about it or not. I don't think it makes much sense that most of my neighborhood is for Romney. I don't really see the logic in someone who isn't wealthy voting for him, unless they're doing it for religious reasons.

U are stupid. All over some damn bananas? Geez it takes a couple seconds literally for them to look and saw that they were paid for. U all sound like those type of idiots that try to sue people for anything and everything. Bug flew in ur eye while walking thru wmart parking lot?? Oh it must be their fault. Lets sue! No sense in people getting mad over small crap like that. U end up hurting urself worse just like the other idiot who wasted prob an extra half hour or more of time and spent more money to leave and go to kroger versus standing there for 10 seconds while they looked at bananas. Lol that's pure dumb right there. Big deal

Honest people truly resent implications that they're a thief. It would have bothered me but I probably wouldn't have left.

Well u know I'm an honest person and I wouldn't like being called a thief either but what are described was no big deal! Hell I wouldn't even have taken that as being called a thief. It's not like they held them at the door and searched them. It just takes a couple seconds to back up and let them check the screen or bananas or wherever the idiots want to. Big deal. I wouldn't have thought twice about it. Wouldn't have bothered me at all, especially not enough to go to another store.

Not over damn bananas, over being profiled of a false accusation by a prissy 19 year old girl who thought she owned the store. And the dumb curly headed woman who took her word as the gospel truth. And the shitty attitude of the girl when I asked her if she thought I was stealing. She hurried back to her post and stood there while my screen remained inoperable. I looked at her and she said "do you want me to help you or not? It's up to you." Now ain't that some more way to treat the customer? After she fixed my checkout she walked away about ten feet and then with a sarcastic voice said "thank you sir and YOU HAVE A GOOD EVENING!" while other customers looked my way. So it wasn't just about my bananas that the brat was hung up over it was an obvious power trip she was on as well as her peer. They had the typical Walmart employee attitudes.
dumb wrote:

The brat did see that my bananas had been scanned as well as the other items that were already in the bags. Her problem: attitude. She went to get a manager for no reason and obviously told her a lie just to show me she had a "little power."

If they needed to check the screen to make sure I paid for something, then I'd take that as implying they thought I hadn't - and I'd resent it. I don't use self serve anyway though, it always messes up as soon as I touch it.

If u wouldn't have acted crazy and like an idiot trying to argue with her and just stepped back til she was done then all that wouldn't have happened and u would have been out of there within a minute. It's ur fault for getting all bent out of shape over nothing

Who said I acted crazy like an idiot? It's clear to see you are the only idiot here I bet you're her little brother. It may be nothing for you since you're obviously of the sheeple class that sucks up to Walmart's low prices and blatant mind control. Shame.

I have been using that store's self checkout for a couple of years without problem until tonight. A new girl about 19 or 20 comes over and grabs my bananas in the bag off the scales and starts mumbling about whether they got scanned or not. She didn't even bother to look at the computer screen. Excuse me! Are you accusing me of stealing? She went away after saying some ugly things and I finished my order and had just swiped my card when a manager interrupts me before I put in my PIN. I asked her if she was accusing me of stealing too? No, she said, I just need to see your receipt when you get finished so I can check everything in your bags. Huh! Anyway, I got pissed and walked out leaving the order for the manager to restock. I looked back and the first thing she was removing were the bananas. Both bitches seemed to have a hang up on my bananas. I'll never shop there again and tomorrow I will call the store manager which I imagine will be useless. I went over to Kroger and paid a little more for the same items but didn't get accused of stealing. Screw Walmart!
How would you have handled the situation?
why were you in walmart to start with? they may be the biggest retailer but they also are the biggest failure at customer service just search google and you will get 1000's of pages of complaints on that evil walton family giant and the saron drive store would be no exception. good choice taking your business elsewhere.

And u also admitted that u have been going there for years with no problems. Now one little incident that's not really even a big deal and u start going crazy over it and so mad. Typical people these days. Always getting mad over small crap that means nothing. Who cares if they wanted to check the bananas? U didn't steal them did u? And u can prove it. Problem solved!! I go to that Walmart all the time since it is close to where I live. I went to get my paycheck cashed there because it was after my banks hours. My wallet had been stolen a few days before and I didn't have my ID but the manager was nice and let me show him my birth certificate and another form of ID and cashed it. A week later I needed to get my next paycheck cashed and I hadn't had the time to get a new drivers license since I work during the week in Frankfort. The lady who was cashing my check was very rude to me when she found out I didn't have my ID. I asked her nicely if I could speak to the manager because I knew he would help me out since he had the previous week. We seriously argued for 10 minutes because she couldn't just hear me out and let me speak to the manager. I tried to explain to her that I needed the cash because I literally only had the gas to make it across the street to shell and I needed to pay rent that night as well. I am only 21 and just now living on my own so my paychecks are very important for expenses such as a roof over my head and gas to get to and from work. I would think that someone working at walmart would understand and just say politely yes let me go get my manager for you. But she did the opposite, she began cussing at me telling me they couldn't cash it with no ID without even speaking to the manager. Luckily he came out of his office and asked what the problem was and took care of me in no time. I have worked in retail and at a restaurant so I know what good customer service is. SHE DID NOT HAVE IT. I finally came to the conclusion that she wasn't happy with her life so she decided to take it out on other people.
She cussed you? REALLY?

I would've finished my checking out. Next, I would've let her check and see I paid for the bananas. Then, I would've taken them over to the customer service and told them I wanted my money back for the bananas. And, that I would never be back. At Meijer for about a month and a half they started checking receipts for things that was underneath the cart. I have a small child that wears diapers so I always have two boxes of diapers and wipes underneath . The first time they checked it didn't bother me. The next time (2weeks later) it did. I ask him why he checked and he said they had to because the checkers was forgetting to check if you had anything down there(even though he watched me get them from underneath and the checker scan them). I told him he needed to tell management to retrain the checkers because that's not my problem and I spend $400.00 every two weeks in there( of my own hard earned money from a real 8-5 job!). My guess is I wasn't the only one who complained because two weeks later the checker asked if I had anything else underneath and they didn't check the reciept at the door. I understand that some people steal but when you spend a lot of money in the same store week after week after awhile it does start to offend you that they still check you. If I couldn't afford to pay for 2 boxes of diapers and wipes I wouldn't have a whole buggy full of bagged stuff.

How about, WALMART SUCKS.
Does not matter where it is.
I agree. Wal-Mart treats its customers and employees poorly. And if you read the ingredients of nearly every food item on Wal-Mart shelves, soy is in there. I stopped shopping at Wal-Mart to eat healthy raw veggies and fruit from local farmers who do not use pesticides. Meat in Wal-Mart stores is full of antibiotics and growth hormones which contribute to sickness. So by buying cheap mostly processed food and meat full of junk, you ultimately are spending more money for doctors and prescriptions. It's a vicious cycle: Food Stamps-> Wal-Mart-> Doctors. And Wal-Mart prefers to hire people on government assistance because they get kick-backs from the government for hiring them. Wal-Mart has become one of the enemies from within. Pair that with Obama and America is doomed. Wake up America!
