Shane you gotta good heart.Volunteer.One act of kindness goes a very long way and honestly can have such an impact on people without hope.I think the children get to me the worst. At the end of the day your rewards are priceless.Love right back at you my friend.

First I think things need to change in our city...attempting to "hide the homeless" during the equestrian games was enough to turn my stomach. These are people with feelings...most suffering from mental illness. We as a society need to recognize mental health issues as an illness!! Why can your heart, liver, kidneys all get sick, but your brain can not?!?! Compassion is the key...I've learned that I can not save everyone but my smile is free and I can share it!! Sometimes a kind word or a cup of coffee can mean the world to the person on the receiving end but most often the person that provides it walks away with the JOY in their own heart.

helping the homeless is a hard one ,some dont want to be helped they like liveing free ,some have mental illness ,some have drug and some are alcoholic,s.Its hard for one person to have the time and money to help all of them plus you need people who are trained ,,that,s where the city could ,should and wont do a thing ! They want someone else to take care of this ! but if you have to help try the red cross or some group ,ps good luck

These rude comments involve some of the most vulnerable of our society. What could u possibly gain from that! Some people thrive on others misery thats a known fact.Killer your right on it this city too busy finding spots for horse statues and not lives.Poverty definintly not a priority here.

I wish you the best of luck in helping them. I personally made it my mission to help two people in the homeless community. I helped them get a home, clean clothes, food and jobs. Within 3 months both were back living on the streets hustling for money.

Sure I could try again but that sour taste isn't out of my mouth yet. I'll wish you more luck than me.

Why do they only have homeless problems in the city? Cause nobody cares for nobody. In the country people care for each other and take care of their own.
It's sad to see that people in Lexington think they are better than us poor folks out in the mountains but if you ask me.. I feel sorry for the lousy bunch of city slickers!

Say what you will about Jim Newberry's mayorship but he did send most of the homeless to other places on a one way ticket.. I'm ok with that, I wonder why mayor gay hasn't done the same

People look down on them because they have forgotten we all came into this world the very same way.Nobody came with a crown on their head. When we leave I dont care what u posses none of those possesions warrant you life.Hell homeless people been known to save lives and if you were critical and theyre the only ones there to help you would you shun them then!Absolutley not!

Just a few minutes ago @ the corner of broadway & maxwell a homeless walked up to my window & demanded $ in a threatening manner.. I spend off instead of pulling my gun but this is becoming a major problem if their getting drunk & aggressive.. It's frightening what some one w/ nothing to lose is capable of
