From reading this forum to say that Shayna stretched the truth is a huge understatement. Do we know for a fact she graduated? If so why have the news outlets found no confirmation to this claim? I know two lives and families were ruined but people who claimed to know her should have taken steps to get her the help she so greatly needed. So tragic on all counts.
Yes, more than tragic, with no word to even describe what has occurred. But everyone who knew her did not know she had any special needs. By the way, Shayna graduated with honor's from U.K. this pat May.

Her entire theory of self defense is absolutely bogus. Lets think about this rationally...she shoots him in the FACE for starters. Then repeatedly shot him after that. Hmm...if you are acting in self defense you would want to shoot the person in order to immobilize them and lessen the threat of them doing any harm to you. This doesn't mean that you shoot them to the point of killing them, and you most certainly don't shoot them in the face. You do the bare minimum necessary in order to defend yourself. Then why would she wait 15 minutes to call the police? Why does she look inexplicably dishoveled in her picture? My theory is that she was trying to stage a struggle to support her claim of self defense and in the process conceal or destroy any incriminating evidence in his apartment. She was calculating her next move cautiously. She wasn't concerned about Ryan or the possibility that maybe he could be recessitated or saved if she were to call the police. Quite the contrary really, she was ensuring that he would be dead so that she could come up with this bogus story and he wouldn't be here to tell the world what really happened.

Maybe they didn't hear shots at all, just as no other neighbors did. It would make more sense to the rational person that they may have heard the crying on the balcony, but not the actual murder. This neighbor's statement has had me wondering since it was made. I think my 5 year old would know to call 911 if he heard shots and then a body fall. Such a terrible tragedy.
But they made a statement that they heard her crying, shots, "something" heavy hit the floor - why would they say that if it weren't true?

Shayna might have had good grades in school, possibly successful later employment; but she really didn't have a bright future. If even half the posts on here from people who knew her are true, she was an accident looking for a place to happen somewhere in her life. It happened last week.
In any case, she chose to not seek help and to end up where she is. She chose that by killing a man. Any of her future that she destroyed was by her own decision.
Ryan didn't get to make that choice to end a bright future. She made it for him. I'm not seeing this girl as a victim and I know I'm old fashioned but her morals and self respect and esteem are nonexistent by her own friends' admission so I'm not feeling warm and fuzzy about her at all.

Its good to know most of you are such experts in firearms, motives, analyzing people's lives and most of all knowing what must have happened. I'm not defending Shayna by any means...I actually used to go to church with her years ago...but I'm defending her by any means(anyone can be capable of almost anything) However NOBODY actually knows what really happened except for Shayna and Ryan...and sadly Ryan can't tell his side of the story, so hopefully shayna and the evidence will come to light and justice will be served...whichever way that is fitting. But everyone is on this board posting personal business and pure opinions! Yes she killed him...we know that....was it right?..no it wasn't. Is it tragic...absolutely...for everyone involved.
But I think everyone should keep their opinions and speculation to yourself because you WERE NOT THERE.....you all have no idea what went down and could have caused this. So stop smearing both of them and acting as if you are so sure.

I wonder about the supposed wait time, but think about this. If someone tried to kill you and you felt threatened enough to shoot, would you give the individual a second chance? Alsio, I have heard Ryan collected guns and kept them loaded in his house because he held a lot of fear and not fear from Shayna but from his enemies.
How do we know he didn't have a gun aimed at this girl? I just hope she really didn't have any alternative.

Not really sure if you are aware of the definition of forum, but its actually this really interesting concept. Its a place where everyone posts their views, ideas, and forms general discussion. It doesn't necessarily mean that whats being said is true and no one is being forced to believe it.

That makes perfect sense. They both had loaded guns in their hands inside an apartment, a shoot-out so to speak, and she was the quick draw of the two.

Except it doesnt make perfect sense because it doesn't explain why she waited 15 minutes to call the police. It doesn't come close to explaining why she would shoot him that many times. After the first or at most second shot the hypothetical gun he would be holding would fall out of his hand or he would be incapacitated to the point that he couldn't fire at her.

Yes, thank you for clearing that up for me. I'm aware what this forum is intended for, I just think its silly how everyone is stating a lot of stuff and being so sure that they know it is right and to be the complete truth. I think that a certain amount of respect should be due to the families involved, that's all.

Thank you for saving me the time. Logical also doesn't take into consideration that some people may be privy to information which he/she is not and form their opinions based on that.

Doesn't take an expert...doesn't require his/her approval...now that's Logical.:)

anyone that knows anything about a gun knows you don't shoot to maim in modern civilian US society. if someone attacked me and I feared for my life I'm not leaving a maimed witness to sit in front of a jury of sympathizers.

Read again...carefully...and ascertain I never said you were privy to anything.

The only person who appears butthurt is the one who wrote:

How does anyone know for sure Shayna waited 15 minutes to phone 911? Is this information from her or from the shots no one has seemed to have heard? This is a real question here. I am not being sarcastic.

She said she waited. Neighbors testified they heard the shots.

I'm not butthurt about anything, all I was trying to do by stating what I did was to make some people really think before they put some of their silliness out there(im sure you would admitt that some of the statements on here are abit ridiculous). So I don't know why you got so defensive, sorry I couldn't call individuals out by name bc there are quite a few...I'm not gonna argue over the Internet, the only thing I was trying to instigate was for some to remember that they weren't there, regardless of how sure they are of their opinions....that's all.
