You have to have been enmeshed in Quest-life to understand the enthusiasm and personal investment Questers make. Their loyalty to Quest is pretty admirable. Not so admirable is their tendency not to consider the validity of criticisms -- criticisms that could be silenced by making a few structural governance changes. I don't agree that they "run with tails tucked"; sadly, they are more inclined to stick with the status quo rather than become everything Quest could be in the Kingdom.

If the death threats are not happening. Why do they have a team that is Petes body guard. They have a reseating area for people that get up from service or come in service late. Quest now have a team that protects Pete and if there anyone gets up from service and becomes a threat or disturbs the service they are quickly surrounded by two to three Men and walk out. I have seen this myself. I have over heard staff stating that there have been death threat toward Pete and others. There biggest worry is that a gun Men sorry or gun women will get up in service and go crazy. So don't tell me I'm playing mind games I'm not. Just stating the truth. When A preacher needs body guards and the church have to have bouncer's there something wrong. Church doesn't need this. My question I have is what wrong here (quest) that they need this protection. JUST ASKING. " let the facts only facts speak for them self"

They are taping the show---so they can't have any of the audience disturb the production. So that is why they don't want people wandering around. I don't imagine there are any death threats. "Guards" are around Pete to keep people from bothering him.

The reason they gave for the "re-seating" area (behind the video booth) was they did not want people being distracted from the sermon when someone left then came back to his/her original seat.

I haven't heard of any death threats against Pete or anyone at Quest; that's not to say there haven't been threats. I doubt the threats have come from people who have left Quest. But I wouldn't know.

When people are shooting other people in churches, as has happened in several instances across the country, it's a reasonable concern that any pastor may have. He or she shouldn't be silenced by fear, but it has happened, so it's something that church staffers and volunteers -- at *any* church -- should keep in the back of their minds.

Surprise...we probably have another plant from Quest here trying to make anyone who could possibly have anything against QCC look like an uneducated twat. Hmmm, "klans against quest"...what else might you be trying to insinuate with such a name? Although you've posted under yet another new name, it's obvious that you are the same goob who can't spell from a few of the other more recent posts (oopop and 2 others).

Don't you people have anything better to do?

A Quest "body guard"...you're kidding me, right... What next? A Quest eugenics program, lol?

Please, people, don't buy this garbage. This is beyond rediculous. Nobody at QCC ranks high enough for such a thing. This isn't just stupid or Pendle-twin stupid...it's Matt Garner stupid.

If anyone is around to "guard" Pete, then I'd wager the reason has less to do with actual safety and more to do with projecting an image of mystery and importance on him to make the crowd think he must be invaluable and irreplacable...thus whatever he says infallable and 100% scripturally supported. For goodness sake, QCC makes sure they don't rock the boat or say anything that might offend or convict anyone (even if it is scripturally backed), so I seriously doubt that anyone wants to see any harm done to Pete. Last time I checked neither the homosexual community or the Islamic one in Lexington has grown bold enough to start causing trouble either. More than likely as I said, the security has more to do with image. The folks at QCC are masters of crafting an envornment and atmosphere to dupe people who are otherwise too lazy to read the Bible for themselves. If they didn't have the gimmicks, smoke, and mirrors...they wouldn't have lasted this long, people.

(Satan, almost chocking on Judas' leg, jumps up) "Oh please, oh please let me take this one. Key term in your statement is "production". And based on how you've answered questions In the past I'd say you're from quest ( cocaine team). When did church change from being "church" to a production. Dear God, Quest is a business, a vary poorly run business...and you all (Questers) are fools. Hahaha, muntz I may be on my fckn way to hel (according to Quest) but at least I can see the path!!!!!

Please tell me this is not true!!!(Satan begins laughing uncontrollable) I've worshiped a 90 percent of the churches and not a single pastor has body guards. Probably for the simple reason THEY DON'T FCKN need one!!! It's been my experience that body guards are not needed unless you're fearing for your: extremely powerful/influential, loaded with millions, or have wronged someone. Hahahahaha.... You Questers are FCKN losers for buying into to this bullsh it...hahahahahahaha!!!!!

I do not know much about quest or Pete but I've been to reverb and they seem prett genuine and interested and caring of my life. I've been 3 times and no ones pressures me to know Jesus or join any teams or even come on Sundays. Just invested time in listening to my questions. They seem pretty cool. I may check it out oneday idk. But the ones I've met so far are cool by me, that being brad v, Dewayne, chris, Mary, Kory etc. They seem genuinely invested.

Give it about 2 to 3 months. If you don't start mimicking Quest speak or hanging around every time you have a spare moment...and once they've gathered enough intel on how to most effectively manipulate you...then they will treat you with a mild disintrest and exclude from conversations. After a point they will take a passive agressive approach to making you feel excluded and unwanted in your lifegroup if you're in one. A hierarchy definately exists as well as cliques. just keep paying attention. Myself as well as 3 others I know personally have experienced the exact same treatment at that place. The same can be said of the Mosaic crowd as well.

@Hmmmm...here's the thing...Quest might be a good place to start, but you won't be able to mature spiritually there. Also, let's say you jump on board and want to join....you can't. By not having an actual membership base then you are not allowed to ask about the churche's finances. What is Pete's salary? Why are the only people that hold Pete accountable selected by...Pete. This is a bad idea for a lot of reasons. People point out that pete when from living in a modest 100k home to a 300k home. I don't know if this is true but apparently you can look it up some place. If this is true do you think this is responsible? Some people think that Quest is hiding something about where the money is going. People that go to Quest will deny this....but they can only offer you their 'feelings' and tell you that so-and-so is a good person and would never do such a thing. Like a lot of others I say that if the church had nothing to hide it would be open with its budget.

@reHmmm: Quest is open with it's budget. If you are a quester you can go to the Quest office and request an in depth copy of the budget. Yes, they have a loose lit one online but it is there to allow non questers to see.
To everybody why is it a church's problem that you don't grow spiritually. Each person has there own path and if you spend your time with God and devote time to study His word and get closer to Him then the church shouldn't change that. If you want a church to spoon feed you your growth then you are right Quest won't do that. But, is it really your relationship or the church's relationship?
