I can't answer any of these questions but I can't believe a movie has not been made about this. Once you start reading the book, you can't stop.

Not sure about a new book, but I have heard multiple times from good sources that knew him personally that yes, he is still alive. The last I heard that was about 3 years ago. Who knows!

I think a movie would be great! This is a very intriguing story. I'm from bourbon co. And have been trying to find info about the bluegrass conspiracy, but all they give you is Andrew thornton very little stuff at that. Ok I've read the book, seen the dunne show Freefall and the one on discovery channel called dangerous company. They seem pretty good. But I'm looking for the newspaper articles the had running when the events were actually goin on. I've read most of the post on here and I haven't seen anyone asking bout John Vance or Bradley Bryant? They were two of the top players in "The Company." You can't find nothing bout them on the Internet. We all know what happened to Drew Thornton, Mike Kelley, his wife and Canan but I'm pretty sure their were more people involved. It's hard to find information about this cause Kentucky has away of trying to protect their own. Since most of the people involved were upper or middle class caucasians they trying to hide it. On the dunne show even they reporter valerie honeycutt I think that's her name she said the people of KY was outraged and wanted them to stop printing up the papers. This is a very interesting story. Would like to know what really happened?

I don't know anything about a new book but I saw a revised edition at Joseph Beth around Christmas. It would be a great movie. I wonder if the book rights have been sold?

Clooney could do a good Thornton. Michael Douglas as Bryant. Who else? I see Chris Walken playing some part in this.

This story still has not been told in full. And Valerie Honeycutt is a true professional, so if she can dig out the true story she WILL.

What in the world? is the true story? I still would love to know...

Read the book a couple years ago and loved it but as far as what really happened, I honestly don't think anyone will ever really know. The reason for that is that so much was covered up due to some of the ones involved. Some things that shouldn't get out to others have a way of mysteriously disappearing around here. I think it would make an awesome movie and I am really shocked that it hasn't become one yet. As far as Thornton, I believe he was dead before falling from the plane. I think someone else onboard killed him and then threw him from the plane, that is if he is really dead. I think if he is dead then someone killed him because he had stepped on some toes and angered some people before all that occurred. It would be interesting to have some more info on the Company and everything that happened. I believe Drew Thornton's grave site is in Bourbon County. Does anyone know for sure where he is buried. That is what I have been told.

You don't dispose of a body with that much money and cocaine on it. That's beyond stupid. Something went wrong up there. Somebody might have tried to kill him, so he jumped to escape, but you don't kill him and then dump all that money with him.

The owner of Cheapside bar & grille Robin and her husband Scott were involved. She had to change her name to Robin Campbell so ppl wouldn't find her or know it was her.

If the POWERFUL people of Kentucky are outraged it's because many of their families, associates, and friends were involved, and as long as it's covered up, the Bluegrass Conspiracy is still alive and well with many of the background people still in power with the government, in politics, in business, and with their massive amounts of money that pull all the strings.

It's too bad Kentucky isn't the only state with an upper class that has the ability to cover up crimes. It's always the good, hard-working, honest people who suffer and pay taxes that will NEVER clean up these dirty situations....

You might if you wanted it to look like an accident. The people that would have killed him would have been very wealthy.

If that's true, then that certainly narrows it down. Look to see who gives megabucks to politicians (like some of the same ones still in power today,)--- politicians have the power to quash and cover up investigations for their friends, and old pals, and there might be a trail. Follow the money -- because money is what this country is really about. http://www.kref.state.ky.us/krefsearch/

For instance, R.J. Coman who's been mentioned on Topix as a Bluegrass Conspiracy participant supported Julian Carrol in Carrol's last state senate campaign. Carrol's nephew was one of the major characters in the book who's still, according to Topix posts, in business with Lambert. Dan Chandler was a member of the Chandler,(Governor/US Congress) family. The list goes on and on with Brown's son in politics.

The Bluegrass Conspiracy with its connected secret criminal organizations is surely still alive and well, key players exposed and slapped on the hand just relocated or moved on to other endeavours. It's dangerous territory to even write about it. When Bill Cannan was released from prison a Lex article said folks were afraid, again.

Rumors are Anita Madd en's son is in notoriously corrupt Bath County, and in business.

(Careful, these boys might target you and send the cops after you if you fail to use your turn signal. Or you might find yourself dealing with both, harassing police AND stalking criminals which is how they work and pull their strings.)
