Stivers HVAC company is the worst service company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Seven days without air - wow. No calls, no time when tech will be there. Had to order parts for a system that they install and service. Never have I been without AC for so long. Bitch is they don't care. This is a company that Ball Homes uses so if you own or are thinking of buying a Ball home you will be in for a surprise. Just don't do it. Stivers will never EVER be allowed on my property again.

Or they have been using you for years. Had a real service company come out and had me running in about 20 minutes. Not 7 days. Stivers ordered a part. Wouldn't have fixed it though as it was a pinched wire that Stivers caused on the installation.

I have to agree. This company has a VERY poor business ethic. Not at all trustworthy or dependable. And the original post goes a long way in explaining why people I know who have purchased a Ball Home have so many maintenance problems. We will be going with a more reputable and integral company for our service.

When did you buy your Ball Home? Was it brand new or used? What wire was Pinched? Sounds like BS to me.

Stivers came out and looked at the neighbor's geothermal unit. Estimate for repair was $3000 and they had to order parts. I gave her a name of a company to call for a second opinion. She called and $140 dollars later they had it fully operation with a part in the van. So, was this an incompetent technician, or was it something else? Draw your own conclusions.

I've actually had Stivers install 3 full Hvac units (heat pumps) this year alone at my rental properties and they are currently the best bid on a multi-unit property I am upgrading.

Nothing but positives in my experience.

Further, I had a carbon monoxide leak at my personal home and couldn't get the installers (monthie mechanical) to show up for two days; called Stivers and they were there in 45 mins.

And No I am not a Stivers employee, I am a landlord.

And regarding ball homes, most everyone knows new construction homes ain't worth a squat. Quality construction ended decades ago.

Their model is sell as many houses as possible by hitting the right price point; longevity is not their goal.

Just read the article from March 2012 in which I have to agree with. We purchased a Ball Home in 2011 in Versailles in which we have had a continuing problem with the heat pump working or freezing up from the start. We have had Stivers come out 8 times in the last two years which I have watched and spoken to the tech each time. I had them come out last week in which they did a PSI test for the first time and finally found the problem. Now the it is out of the two year work warranty they want to charge us $980 in labor as the part is still under warranty. When I complained, they dropped it down to $480 with only a three month warranty on the labor. Most places have a year warranty so it sounds like they aren't really for sure this is going to fix it. Question is, why couldn't they have figured out when the warranty on parts and labor were both covered??

I agree that their model is to sell lots of homes cheaply that is why they use Stivers. If you improve your reading comprehension skills you will see that the problem was Stivers installation

When a company doesn't take care of it's employee's, that company doesn't have good employees, stivers is one of those companies

I contacted Stivers about a furnace that quit working in a 3 week old home. They would not return my call even though they advertise 24/7 service . The temperature is 28 degrees.

I have used Stivers for many years. Never had any problems with them. I will clarify something a very childish person said, Rick Stivers IS NOT a cokehead and never was. If you call during freezing cold temperatures, they and every other company are going to be busy. That's just how it works.

Let me explain how Stivers works whatever the part cost you are charged two to three times what they pay for it. Rick Stivers is a con artist and is a hothead cokehead he will rip you off at every chance he gets and could care less about nothing more than getting every dollar he can. The reason the employees do shity work he hires illegal immigrants who do not know anything about installation and the service techs have no experience and rely entirely on calling their owner or manager to figure out what to do
