Hi, I am looking for a good obgyn here in the lexington area. If you know of any please let me know. I have had the iud mirena for 4 years, 4 months. And just can't take the pain anymore, I have had stomach problems the whole time i have had the mirena. 2 nights ago i was laying in bed, going to sleep, and i started getting a really sharp pain below my belly on the right side. It has never did this before. I have not bleed in 5 or 6 months, yesterday I spotted a little, and then started bleeding pretty bad. I also can only feel 1 of the mirena strings, i can not find the other, and there is a bump in the very back (you women know what im talking about, theres kids that get on here lol) where both the strings should be located. If any of you have expirenced these problem or any other problems with the mirena, please let me know, it will be very helpful. I am just ready to get this out. Thanks for all your help. :)

Try Bluegrass Women's Health. I see the PA there and she is wonderful...very easy to get along with and not awkward. She put my IUD in.
I haven't had any problems with mine. My strings were cut too short so I have issues feeling them. You really do need to get it checked though...just to be on the safe side. Give Bluegrass Women's Health a call...they are wonderufl.

I have had it since March of 2007 I have had lots of problems with it also!!! Go google it and there is a forum from hundreds of women who have had terrible experiences with it, I plan on getting mine out immediatly!! You can go to planned parent hood and they will take it out, you dont have to be young or meet qualifications to just have it removed there! I wish I could remember the website to tell you for the forum because it was crazy how many people are experiencing the same problems!!!

Hi, thanks michelle, and mirena is terrible for taking your time to post on this topix. I searched the web and found a obgyn, most people had great things to say about her, so hopefully i picked the right one to go to. I have made a app. for sept 15 to get this taken out, i can't wait hopefully my stomach pains will go away when i get it taken out. I got on here and read all the side effects , and from others who have had bad expirence with it. There was so many bad things about the mirena, I am so ready for the 15th to get here so i can get it out :)

I had mine placed almost a year ago and have been very lucky and had no problems (other than extreme pain right after placed).

Jeane O'Nan is one of the best ob/gyn's in Lexington!! She's at central baptist. I've referred NUMEROUS people to her over the past 5 years and hear nothing but great feedback....except the wait is sometimes a little long. But, you can't really schedule baby's being born ;)

If you would search on the internet, you may find a long list of reviews and personal opinions about Mirena. For some women, Mirena works well for them, while others find its side-effects to be a nightmare. Visit http://www.mirenalawsuit.us/ for more information on this matter.

I had an IUD and kept it for almost 6 year, I think the worst side effect I had was the cramping for the first 2 months, then I was fine.
Doctors, Midboe-Penn at UK women's clinic is pretty good.
Any of them really are very nice.

I had the Mirena IUD for 3 years and finally had it taken out because I could no longer take the pain. It caused me to have a lemon sized cyst in my ovary and it's still there! The first year was great when I had it but after the second year, things just went south for me! I hope that every woman who has this has a better experience than I did, I know for me I'll never have this contraception again!!!
