I don't know much, except Mr. Meyers and my father discussed his purchase of the farm many times. The courthouse should have records. My father was a local developer. He walked the property a few times after the sale. There was a house on the property, and also the foundation from an old homestead as well. The path to the river was pretty rugged, but reachable with an ATV.

My father also walked the property off Sugar Creek while things were heavy, but was stopped by a friend before he trekked to far up a isolated foot path. He was told that if he proceeded any further, he would be taking his life into his own hands.

I grew up knowing most of the people in the book and a lot who were left out. My aunt was one of Madden's "girls" that she hired for parties. Flynn was also a cousin of mine. Trust me when I say that a few people continued their activities decades after this took place. My uncle was murdered a few years later in a high profile case associated with this but no one seemed to ever put the pieces together. Or they didn't try to because they knew. I frequently was in the car with my dad when he made drop offs to some of the major players and we had FBI surveillance on our house a couple of times during the mid 80s. It truly was a mafia type operation and I know a couple of dirty governors who I was supposed to contact in case of a bust. I was living with my single dad at the time and had quite a bit of responsibility for a teenager. Some of you who were around back then may remember me because my dad would haul me into bars and strip clubs and park me behind the bar while making transactions. There was always a ton of weed in our crawlspace, coke on the dining room table, heroin, and dilaudid laying around. Oh and lest I forget... all of the high class call girls coming to our house to pick up whatever their clients needed. What a freaking way to grow up! When people ask why I don't speak to my parents I still don't know how to reply. I could and may write my own book.

I don't think she ever made it to Florida. From what I heard, she is close to Hall's on the River. Either buried in concrete in a basement of a house on Amster Grove (can't remember the name of who's house it was)or in the old quarry caves up from Hall's down by the river. The caves are full of water so it would take a knowledgable diver/caver to find her remains.
I know a guy who said he was with her in Fla. when she was a working girl and then she disappeared in a night never to be seen again.

I know all about Madden's parties and her orgies as I had to discretely drive more than one person to the hospital for treatment for overdoses.

So Anita Madden was hiring ladies as "escorts" for her high-dollar friends....? If that's true it's easy to imagine how politicians and prominent people could have been compromised if they ever were involved -(even governors.)

Who was it said this should all be dropped because it's still dangerous–– the Lexington police? If it's still going on then they're the ones to ask why.

Kentuckians shouldn't have to live in terror because law enforcement is corrupt for four decades+

Your uncle isn't the only one. They're still dropping like flies, whether prison or dead in some areas because it seems the Bluegrass Conspiracy drug, criminal organization problem got a grip on the state and just never let go.

This site addresses ongoing, long-time smuggling in Venice, Florida and it's apparently tied to Lexington as one of the sources for the shipments. http://www.madcowprod.com/04162010.htm

Don't know, but seems there were several Florida connections on Florida's east coast and west. And now Florida's having trouble controlling their pharmaceutical pills, as well as monitoring their cocaine powdered coastlines.

Does Drew have any living relatives? How about Bryant? They were both Lexington boys. What about the guy that was supposed to be thrown out over the ocean? I imagine he could say a lot if you could find him. Who is this Bill Leonard I hear about that was a friend or player within this group.

You have no idea how deep and far that this runs. It spans at least two generations and includes the horse racing industry as well as politicians. And yes there are many other murders which are interconnected to this and many other well known blue blooded names attached. Many have been able to go legit but still have deep ties. I have lost three members of my family due to their ties and several have moved across the country to save their asses. One returned and paid the price once back on Ky soil. During the late 80s and early 90s the transportation of cocaine got creative. A Bowling Green car dealer would go to the Florida car auctions and haul them home so he could fill the tires with product. Then they were sold legally and taken to other states. That families name was Bunch and yes they were connected and later busted. At the time I was married into the family and soon divorced, changed my name, and have never returned. I had been working for them(doing books and title transfers) and other area car dealers who were more lucky not to get caught and felt it was time to get out while I had a chance. I also knew a family who lived close to Lexington who ran a major counterfeit ring for about 20 years. I grew up with the children of that family and every other "connected" family in this huge web of crime. So cutting all ties and leaving was my only option for getting out of the circle and starting an honest life. I am not wanted by anyone as I have never broken the code by ratting on anyone nor by stealing from anyone. But I still take precautions to not be found and roped back into what is supposed to be my legacy and in my blood. I live outside of the country now and have discovered some of these forums in the past year that I follow out of curiosity. It's the only link that I have to keeping up with those I'm related to. Rarely do I post and change my ISP when I do. It does make me fell less alone when I do because when I have given my story to those close to me they have doubts I'm sure.

Drew Thornton -
Locals have suggested Drew Thornton is still alive with plastic surgery to his face, new identity.... and in the book it says the positive identification was made by Knoxville police matching the body with Drew's FBI fingerprints.(Interesting - could you trust Knoxville police as much as you could trust Lexington police at that time?)

Bradley, Earl, Larry, Callie -
In the book there were four Bryants mentioned: Larry, Bradley, Earl, and Callie. Earl Bryant was Bradley's brother, listed on his business in Alabama. The businesses show Arizona addresses. His cousin, Larry's status in the Air Force gave him clearance for getting the military equipment from the Naval Weapons Center. China Lake. And his ex-wife, Callie Bryant is mentioned briefly.

(They were looking for something made in Russia, called a "Tall King" which one person has said is a radar system about the size of a church. So they were dealing with some extraordinary military equipment if that's true.)

Bill Leonard -
From the book "The Bluegrass Conspiracy," page 357–– "Ralph racked his brain for a plausible explanation of the circumstances. Although the DEA denied publicly that they had ever identified Drew's accomplice, Ralph knew that they had, and that the man was a Lexington bodybuilder and martial arts expert named Bill Leonard. Why hadn't Leonard ever been charged in the conspiracy?"

The present governor was a representative for Fayette county and attorney general during the era of the BGC. Former Gov. Happy Chandler's son, and a cousin to current Congressman, Dan Chandler was involved. Former Governor Julian Carroll who is presently a state senator, nephew Phil Block, was involved. Former Governor John Y. Brown was involved. The US Attorney (now deceased,) Joe Famularo, went to work as a consultant for Pardue Pharma, makers of Oxyconton. Bob Hope and Happy Chandler are said to have golfed and frequented Harrodsburg. Bradley Bryant was grandson to a Lex. Mayor. Many political families had members involved, and many are still enjoying power today.

It's sad that you've lost family and a homeland because law enforcement failed. It's like a third world country when corruption overpowers justice and conceals the truth.

Living in fear, intimidated, and oppressed is no way to live. Ask any Mexican or Colombian caught up in the drug war, or any survivor of the Holocaust or the Iron Curtain. This country wasn't built on principles of disinformation, fascism and corruption, and hopefully will right it's wrongs within it's boundaries––

Thank you for validating that as I feel crazy knowing this information. When I try to tell my story it reflects in others eyes as some sort of tall tale. My dad never hid anything from me and always took me everywhere while I was growing up. So one could imagine the shit that I witnessed. Sex,drugs, federal crimes, ass beatings, and all. I saw Jim Varney get the shit kicked out of him once because he owed money for blow. I think that was at Camelot East but not sure. By the way i was 12. That's not anything that I could go to school and share.

TMI (too much information) with regards to organized crime/public or corporate corruption/drugs isolates many people from society and any hope of a normal life. And potential whistleblowers can be targeted, ridiculed, harassed, stalked and destroyed emotionally, physically, and/or financially.

You've done well to stay alive, survive, and should be commended. It's a national disgrace so many Americans have suffered under a blanket of lies resulting from corruption and criminal organizations & coverup without finding relief. And it's a travesty of democracy that any honest, law-abiding American should feel forced to leave the country to find safety and/or peace.

Thank YOU for coming forward and proving that Sally Denton's book wasn't fiction. In certain circumstances it takes incredible courage to utilize the First Amendment, even in the USA.

The last time that I saw my father he couldn't fathom how I couldn't finish college, keep a marriage together, or tried drugs. I had to reply that I had learned it all from him. Luckily I've never had an addictive personality and instilled myself with values. I've thrived and became a success in my own right. I refuse to have a relationship with my family because I have a hard time forgiving them for the exposure to that lifestyle. We come state side periodically but not often and never to Ky. I'd love nothing more than to return to Keeneland again. I spent a lot of time there as a child. I recently introduced my husband to a childhood friend who could coo berate every story that I've shared with him. Not because he asked me to but for my own piece of mind. I have a close friend who is an author that wants to help me write my story. The thing is that not enough people are resting in the cool earth yet.

To noname: I've read all of your previous posts now and I'll put this out there and then I'm out of here. Meth manufacturing in Ky started in the late 70s early 80's. Much sooner than people are aware of. Back then it was an export to other states. It was not being cooked in Mexico in those days. Now it's being exported out of their country to us. Add this to your previous theories and some others posts and tell me how you think that it got there and who may be profiting from it. It runs deep. War on drugs? Right.

I might've missed it & sorry if it was already mentioned. Wasn't there a connection (like there aren't enough already) between the federal prison on Leestown Rd. & some or most of the corruption mentioned in the book? The prison had many mafia family members in town while their husbands/fathers/sons were doing their time. Anyone remember the raid at Lexitalia? I don't know about now, but the prison used to be loaded with well connected mob guys & always wondered how much (not if) that affected things in Lexington.

Hey "far and away", I would think that I probably know you because we grew up around the same people and places. I was born in 1970 and my Father was a Physician that treated several of the people that you have mentioned. I can remember these guys and a couple of girls always came to our house for treatments and prescriptions rather than go to his office. I also remember some rough activity and it never occured to me when I was young just how strange these activities were, I also remember Daludid and Qualudes lying around the house and I also remember finding a small container of "white powder" in my Fathers Den. I was told that it was some kind of herbal nutrient only now I know what it was. My Father had an aneurysm and died in the early eighties when all the information about the conspiracy was leaking out. I can remember that you could cut the tension with a knife in my house when all the info on the Company was being publicized.

I wasn't going to post again but now I'm intrigued. I am a year younger than you and based on what you posted I think that we may have known each other. Did your family have an accountant who had dolphins painted on the floor of his pool? His initials were CW and his estate was near Keeneland. Are you a male who grew up in Tates Creek?
