I'm a professional and I stop in G'will because I have found some excellent deals - best one was a painting by a listed California artist valued at $9,000. I've found many items from $1.50 to under $10 that are worth hundreds, and several that are over $1K. Easiest investments I've made, and the fun is in the search.

As for clothes, I picked up some great buys - like a $120 pair of fantastic "rock star" metallic jeans - BRAND NEW WITH TAGS - for $3.00

I like the one off Mapleleaf/Man O' War.

It is so funny,In july of this year I found a chanel hand bag on the every day priced bags,I thought it looked different from the knock offs so I bought it ,had it checked out,only to find out it was real,It was a two year old bag that had costed 2100.00 new.my profit on that in a consignment store was more than that store probley took in that day.It is so funny to see a knock off priced fo 20.00 dollars and the real thing not even being looked at.

The best Goodwill store in Fayette County, in my opinion, isn't in Fayette County. The one on Harrodsburg Road just past the Jessamine County line is good but it is a little crowded. The new one on Nicholasville Road in Jessamine County in the new shopping center is huge and has a lot of stuff.

That is probably the 2nd most assanine statement I have ever heard on here. There is nothing wrong with wearing a used shirt etc from Goodwill, people do know how to wash clothes before they wear them you know or wash a cup or plate before they use it. For many college students here that is the only place they can afford to buy things. My husband and I both work and we go to Goodwill.Tell me you have never bought anything from a yard sale? Same difference there. If not and you are so rich that you can throw money away in this economy then more power to you. I worked for Goodwill for almost 2 years and I know many people who go there because they WANT TO not because they have too. One of them is a prison guard and makes a damn good living. I know one of the newscasters who is retired now here in Lexington that goes sometimes to them. Do you seriously think he has to go there? Many people enjoy it. One reason I love it is because if I go to Wal mart or Macey's or anywhere else all the damn styles all look the same anymore. They may be different colors or some have zippers and some buttons but they are still the same thing, whether they are made by the Gap or Falls Creek or whoever. At Goodwill you have a choice to buy older and different styles that fit one's taste, not just the option to look like and keep up with the Jonses.
