I've visited many, many churches and I've seen very bad ones, and a few good ones.. But this one has to be the best of the best that I've visited.. Words cannot express it you have to see it for yourself.. This is the video of the service that I was at this past Sunday Morning.

Wow is this a church or a rock concert? This is why America is falling to its knees, because we are lowering our standards in our churches, and the first thing that stands out is the appearance of the pastor! He looks very comfortable in his members only jacket, choke chain and dockers! I bet he has never had a sermon about going to Hell? Its great that Quest has 3500 members but they should raise their standards some and maybe preach about how to get out of your comfort zone and do something productive for the Lord! First thing dress like your going to Gods house not like your going to an amusement park!

This is so sad. I feel so sorry for you. Someone found a way that they could worship and feel comfortable and you attack them because you don't agree with how the church members dress. It also appears that you have never actually been to the church so you don't know if they talk about hell or not. I've been to Quest and the preacher flat out said, if you are doing things you shouldn't like cheating on your spouse or abusing alcohol or drugs, ect, you know its wrong and you need to repent and get things straight between you and Jesus and then they offer one on one help and group help to help you get it straight, free of charge I might add! They do not say everything is ok, but they do provide support so you can get your life straigtened out. Jesus does not want us to tear other people down. If you dont' like the church, then don't go there, but be Christ-like and don't judge people for the clothes they wear. Some people cannot afford to dress in super expensive clothes or maybe they want to start coming to church but may not have the money to buy a new wardrobe. You know, I heard a woman say once that she would not go to Church on Easter becuase she could not afford to get a new dress. That is sad and I'm sure it made Jesus very sad. I don't think you purposely mean to hurt people or make them feel unworthy, but you really need to think about what Jesus would think about your attitude and being quick to judge. Jesus was born in a barn and didn't grow up wealthy to say the least. He didn't have nice things. Could Jesus come to church with you or would he not meet your standards?

I have never been to Quest Church and I don't intend to ever go. But to the person who is bashing them for using rock music and wearing comfortable clothes does your church require you to wear robes and sandals? Do you play Hebrew music? If not then your church is obviously updated too. Get off these peoples backs! They have found a place to worship that makes them feel welcome. If you are a Christian you should be happy for them.

I do wanna apologize if I have offended anyone, I prayed over this last night and the Lord has been convicting me ever since. I think the flesh got the best of me last night and I shouldn't of said any negative thing about Quest or their leadership. Although I still stand behind my beliefs I was not saying any thing about the laymen of the church I think as long as your at the church service that is the most important thing and if the Holy Spirit is in the church then it will give you the convictions to make the necessary changes in your life to get closer to God. Although my personal opinion about the attire of a pastor of the house of God is different than yours we are still serving the same God so lets look at that as a positive. And yes I am extremely happy for any church that is preaching Gods word and getting people Saved and Baptized. I have never been to Quest so your right I should have never assumed what the preacher is preaching, I may in the near future attend a service, but whether good or bad I will keep those comments to myself. This topic just shows sometimes that we all make mistakes and sometimes are too quick to judge! God bless Romans 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

Very nice Jooo. I'm sure the members of Quest Church will accept your apology. It takes a big person to admit they may have made a mistake. Most people wouldn't have even bothered to think about it let alone pray about it. I'm glad you're happy with your place of worship. It seems to be working. :)

Jooo - Did that sound condescending? I didn't mean it to. I'm a little under the weather today, heads kind of fuzzy and I'm not making as much sense as I usually do. Anyway, I was being sincere. You seem like a good person and I wanted to give you credit for doing the right thing.

See Jesus. Make sure that when you are praising salvation that you thank Jesus and not Quest. I won't say anything negative about that place. I don't attend there anymore but pray that you attend with eyes wide open. The defense on this site is always directed towards protecting the institution and protecting Pete. Its awesome that people are finding Christ there but the sad part is they are crediting Quest and Pete for their salvation. Make sure to give credit where credit it due. Jesus is who died for your sins. Not Pete and not an institution. Read 1 Peter, Matthew, Luke, John... Make sure your relationship with Christ is rooted in God's Word and not the words you are given on Wed/Sat or Sun from Q. Be rooted in Jesus. He is the only One who will save you.

don't believe everything you read. Most of those posts are sadly misguided, most of all ex quester. If you really want to know what it's all about come check it out for yourself, don't rely on these silly message boards. Come experience Jesus in this church, you will be amazed at how ge will meet you there!

ridiculous. You are assuming that quest is only for entertainment, how presumtious of you. While yes, there is entertainment, it is worshipful to Jesus, not Pete, and is always relevant to a service. Those small churches aren't bringing anyone from death to life, they are sitting stagnant with their rules , legalisms, judgements and who they will welcome into their church. All the while forgetting why they are in church in the first place. They aren't there to have budget meetings abd fight over which hymn to send next. That is why those small churches aren't growing, they think they they don't need to and that is really sad. It's funny how people fuss about how big a church is. What in the world do you people think heaven will be like? If you are crowded down here you sure aren't going to like it up there! I appreciate quest for keeping the main thing the main thing, for the authenticity of the people, for being completly accepting regardless of your sin or circumstance, for trying to bring other churches together and for not being apologetic to the criticisms on these forums, which has been addressed from stage. Jesus is being served in amazing ways in this community!!

Unfortunately no matter how I respond to your statement you'll have a counter arguement. Such is life, we all hate to truly evaluate our beliefs fearing the realization we're wrong. Read the word and hear the Lord..My small legalistic church taught me to: test, question, evaluate and learn. Some common principles held by the likes of Sir Issac Newton... I personally have yet to learn anything from an amusement park other than don't drink a case of beer before the Superman drop thing.

The bad things that I see out of the larger churches is that they have the "Country Club" atmosphere and not one of worship. I agree with the poster above that had asked if they have ever preached a sermon on hell.

Be wary. This church uses contemporary music, staging and sermons to distract you from very real judgement. At its core, this is a very conservative church. For example, if you're gay, the church "will love you" DESPITE this sin. They will pray for you (feel sorry for you) and encourage you and try to support you while you eradicate the gayness. This is an EVANGELICAL church - and there is only one way to salvation - Jesus Christ. Those born in third world countries, those millions of babies that grow up in poverty and die while they're still children, having never know Jesus... well, they're just shit out of luck according to evangelicals.
Every person should choose the church that's right for her. This one certainly was not right for me.

Seriously,

...Seriously?

WOW! Thanks for the judgment of smaller churches, they certainly need that, your grace is much appreciated.

Your must be a Quest type, as your post does seem very authentic and the completely accepting, regardless of the fact I attend a small church. Thank you for that!

It is refreshing to know that Quest is trying to bring other churches together with their authentic community and post such as yours. I feel accepted already!

Feelin the Love, I am sorry if you took offense to seriously's post. That is not what Quest has ever said or taught. Yes, they believe that churches that get too tied up in the mundane or in forgetting to reach out to the community around are bad. They don't say small churches are bad and even inact things such as life group to try to get a small church type atmosphere at times. I believe that any church no matter the size can be good or bad. Does this mean I agree with Quest completely no: I do believe some things are wrong there. But, I don't believe it is what others try to make it to be. I am sure you church is an amazing grace filled, God loving church and that is important. Please, don't judge Quest by one or two posters on a forums site.

Indifferent,

Point well taken, I hate, yes hate it, when compared to some of the fringe elements of the Christian faith. I am specifically thinking of the TV evangelist that equate everything to money, and that group from Westboro, KS.

Seems like I am lumping all Quest members in the same pile as 'Seriously", and that too is not right.

My prayer is that you are working to help correct the things that you see as wrong at Quest. I am sure all churches have their issues, and in fighting, at least every church I have attended does. Interesting that a large church enacts 'Life Groups' to imitate smaller churches.

So I will endeavor to not judge Quest by the post here or on the other Topix forums, with the exception of your post.

Blessings
