Any suggestions for Pediatricians in Lexington? I am looking for Peds that don't give you a hard time for using an alternate vaccination schedule.

Pediatric and Adolescents Associates-They are the best! We've seen nearly every doc there and they are all recommendable. Good Luck!

Commonwealth Peds - they are a group in front of Central Baptist. I think there are 6 of them in the group. They are great!

I also recommend Commonwealth Pediatrics at Central Baptist. Dr. Mack, Dr. Story, Dr. Feece, two Dr. Hause's (husband and wife) and Dr. Poole I beleive is the other. They truly are great!

Thanks for the suggestions! Have any of you used an alt vax schedule with the recommendations? My current ped has really given me a hard time for wanting to delay the MMR specifically.

I agree with everyone's suggestions for Commonwealth. My mom found them after our pediatrician retired and my son now goes there as well. I've scheduled all my son's vaccines "on time" (I don't really buy into them being dangerous) so I'm not really sure what their reaction would be. I'm sure they would want to reiterate risks with you but they've proven to be pretty open minded. I'd just call the office and speak with a nurse to see what their take is. They also have welcome kits and information that they will mail to you if you are interested and they schedule appointments just to meet one of the doctors as well.

I have chosen to only get vaccinations one at a time and PAA didn't give me any problems with it. I love Dr. Isom he is great!!!!!!

Dr. Lagrew is a wonderful doctor as well, theres never a wait and you can get an appt the same day, at least that has been my experience. She is located at central baptist office park.

I absolutely LOVE Dr Ison at PAA!!! Both of my kids go to him and I couldn't be happier. My daughter has had a lot of heatlh issues (she had open heart surgery over a year ago when she was only 4 months old) and he has been absolutely WONDERFUL!!

My daughter is almost 4mo and I've been going through the ringer with peds in the Lexington/Georgetown area for the same reason. We are delay/selective vaccinating and have yet to find a ped that will see us. I called around before she was born and everyone told us they would flat out not accept us at their practice unless we stick to their schedule. Our midwife suggested Dr. Gillispie at PAA and said he may be more open since he is a DO. Well, he was an amazing Dr.(very warm, gentle and understanding) and after talking over and actually listening to our concerns he would allow a very limited delay in some vacs but that was it. However, he had no clue what I was talking about when I asked about a vaccine detox if we did decided to do any vacs. So now we are back on the search and still w/o a ped.

As for PAA in general: we met 4 other of the peds in that office and were not happy with them at all! The office itself was very cold and they handled our newborn daughter fairly rough. We were basically called bad parents because we refused the initial HepB and VitK injections at the hospital. After answering all of their questions with well-researched facts we then asked them what risks our baby presented that made her need these shots at this vulnerable time. And the best answer we got: "You just never know." I KNOW that she was born perfect and we didn't want to introduce those toxins to her delicate system at that time and risk messing with that perfection. They kept pushing the VitK injection...even after they had to redo basic blood tests 3 times because she was clotting so easily. Didn't make sense to us. I think they were very surprised (and offended) that we presented so much research on the subject instead of most parents who just do what they're told without looking into it. I prefer to know exactly what heavy metals and toxic materials are being injected into my perfect baby's body.

So please tell me if you find luck elsewhere. Everyone here keeps saying how much they like a certain Dr., but still not any info on Dr.'s who are holistic or homeopathic.
