You all are being very judgemental. This church brings life back to an old run down property and brings some life back to this area of town. Richmond rd has become a very ghetto area and was only getting worse. Yes, Southland is spending a lot of money, but it is for a good reason and will help the people in the area. And btw, Applebee's is not shutdown. Southland is not out to hurt business's at all. Next time before you judge a church, maybe you should step back and look at your own life. Maybe your the one not living a Christian life.

Richmond Road is full of nice, well-established neighborhoods. You've been brainwashed by the cult of SCC.

If Jesus were to walk the Earth today churches like Southland would be very disappointed to find all of their millions are being wasted. These mega-churches are not what the Bible asks. Mega-churches are what the Bible preaches and teaches against!
Mega churches or should I say "seeker sensitive or seeker friendly" churches are a disgrace to the gospel. Before anyone goes spitting the word judgmental at me. Yes I am judging. I judging by the authority that was given to all that has been saved. We have full right to judge a ministry to expose if it is truly Biblical or not. Southland Church and South Eastern in Louisville or whatever it is called are both examples of what Christ said not to do.
Just turn to your Bible and read where Jesus turns over the tables in the temple and demands the money makers be driven out.
Churches like Southland are a part of the coming Great Deception mentioned in the Bible. If you attend one of these churches I suggest you pray hard and find a real church.
<quoted text>Ghetto area?? Look at your own life?? THAT is being judge mental.. Typical Hypocritical Christian.
Maybe he should have rephrased that in more sensitive. Property values in that area have declined due to many contributing factors. Crime. Drugs. Lack of development. Calling an area ghetto is not judgmental.
Anytime a Christian expresses an opinion someone says typical hypocritical Christian. Well first off read the Bible. Secondly yes Christians can be hypocritical but so is every single human being on Earth. Christians do not claim to be perfect. We all fall short of the glory of God. We all are sinners in His eyes. That includes every person on this Earth. However Christian people those that truly follow the Bible will openly admit their flaws and ask forgiveness. Being a Christian is a walk with Christ and a life's journey of trying to be more Christ like.
I get so tired of the words hypocritical or judgmental. Those words actually apply more so to the ones that throw them out in defense. Seems like people use those words as armor to protect their own selfish hearts from being opened up to Christ.
<quoted text>Tell that to the good people, that are poor, living there. Or to an AfricanAmerican. So yeah, go ahead and tell yourself that using the word ghetto isn't being judgemental. And believe me, I am judgemental... all day long i find myself judging. But at least I can admit it about myself. most Christians never can... They hide from admitting their faults, wrongdoings, and hatefulness. Using their blather and bible and their churches BS to justify anything they say or do. It's disgusting.
There is nothing wrong with the people that live there. Why does ghetto automatically have to apply to people? Why can't it just apply to an area? Anyone living in a ghetto area may not take offense to the use of that word. An area does not have to define a person or their worth. It doesn't matter where one lives. Christ loves everyone!

To me when I hear someone say ghetto I merely see it as a decline in property value due to circumstances beyond the control of the people that live in the area. I do not see it as a stamp of value on those that live in a ghetto area. Their value lies in their hearts not their homes.

Churches like Southland are a part of the coming Great Deception mentioned in the Bible. If you attend one of these churches I suggest you pray hard and find a real church. You are now saying shat I said years ago and so many times before. OK A BOOKstore, Starbucks coffee. Now it light of what Starbucks owner days those who support traditional marriage can take their business elsewhere so why would a church who claims they support Christ have a Pagan coffee shop in its building..You asked What woule Jesus do. Jesus would turn over the tables. Yes when Jesus came to speak thousands gathered to see him, be healed and more, but the organized mega church? You are correct the seeker, it seems that so. Any posts I read are the same, ok with living together before marriage, nfornication, Homosexuality and more. GOD hates sin but from so many posts these members claim...mercy...where's the love, forgiveness, tolerance and so much more. You can read on the Southland posts which are several. Mike Breaux started that come as you are, seeker style. The one thing is seeking yes, But Acts2.38 is clear. "Repent and be baptized.......". If you sin, ask forgiveness but then you refrain you don't do it again. Jesus took that to the cross. But this modern day church I think alot of people and leaders are going to have to answer for this. I have worked with people and know the only reason people go there is to be seen, to market their own agendas of personal marketing. This was not the church Wayne Smith started and ever believed in. There are many churches that are worse doing the same Quest, Joel Osteens church is so paganized, so many more. We sing watered down songs, we have watered down sermons, 10 minute messages. We don't want to offend anyone they say. I've been there and seen this for myself and I no longer condone nor participate any of these things. I feel GOD is truly calling the church to listen to get on its knees and repent for its actions. GOD is calling on the CHRISTIANS of American to get on their knees, repent and clearly if not the book of Revelation is so clear what GOD says will happen. GOD wants us to yes seek him, find him with all our hearts and turn from our wicked ways. I used to see the Wayne Smith Southland stand for GOD in Lexington, but when is the Jon Weece Mike Breaux show ever stood and said their beliefs on abortion, marriage between one woman and a man, go against the Lesbian Gay community. I Southland, even Quest stood as loud as they do America would, Lexington would make a difference, but when the shirts, Hands on Originals were sued for their refusal based on Christian beliefs where was the Christians rallying to support, standing up out front, speaking loudly in support of those who choose to obey GODs laws, not conform? If we don't stand now and more than ever GOD will call us one way or another to repent. The BIBLE says it ever so loudly.

Continued
Those days when Southland and many churchs would line up along on Nicholasville Road to show the support for Pro Life. Brewsters spot was always ihen it comes in front ot the Kentucky fried Chicken. So where is Brewster? Where are the Southland people now when it comes to standing for Lexington, for America? Why weren't they holding signs for support Pro life day. Why not in support of Hands on Originals, why not and why not. Oh because someone might see them? Ohh. Be seen for GOD and his word which is so clear. The BIBLE is the authority of the ON and only true GOD. Yes there are those that do good things, but yet where is the church, Southland speaking out with what we should be doing? GOD will have the last word. He always does and always will. If you are just seeking, ask where to find him, and live as he commanded. Honor his word. Speak out loud. If the church stands with GOD he will protect them, but if they are seeking will he then only if you ask him for repentence and believe and want to live in Heaven with him eternally.
