They keep saying the reason they agreed to this is bc the exgirlfriend witness has been receiving death threats. Why couldn't they charge these people doing this to her? maybe they don't know who they are but obviously, it has to be someone close to him. Atleast, it is finally over for trent's family. Maybe they can finally move on and restore a little peace in their heart knowing that he did confess. But I'll never understand how these people that burglarize get more time than murders do. There are alot of crimes than get stiffer punishment that murder, one of the worst crimes of all. And all these perverts get little time, Our justice system has gone to hell in a hand basket. It is time for a overhaul of our whole government. The real citizens of this country are getting fed up.

I didn't mean any disrespect to trent's family. This is not something they will ever get over, it will be on their minds everyday for the rest of their lives. It will never be finally over for them. My heart goes out to them. Praying for you all!!

There aren't enough vile words in the dictionary to express my outrage over the corruption infiltrating this case. It seems like daddy's money reached into the pockets of judges, attorneys, parole officers, clerks, and possibly the FBI. While under "home incarceration" he dated the judge's daughter? AND had over 50 parole violations including enough DUI to put a common citizen behind bars. We haven't seen the last of Shane Ragland. Just check out his father's DUI convictions.

Sgt. Hunter Hershey of the Fayette County Jail reported Ragland for violations. The upper's of the county shut him up.

Far be it for us to judge. God will judge him someday. Shane Ragland will burn in hell.

Cash is king. How did they get the FBI bullet analyst to lie? It's a built-in get out of jail early card. Kind of like that detective that screwed up the evidence in OJ's trial. He now lives on a ranch in Montana. Sure beats LA, on a cop's salary I guess.

Plain case of money talks, scum walks. The fact is Shane's father bore the blunt of the punishment. His money, saved sonny. His life style suffers, not Shane's. Two familys destroyed and the killer walks free. Bicycle thieft will give more time served than that. Karma, Karma, where are you baby?

Another question is if the ex girlfriend was being threatened, well isn't that what the witness protection program is for? Or am I lost somewhere? Yes you are right our so called justice system is shot all to hell.

..judges and court systems will stop dropping the ball on convictions when its related to families of prominence when the PEOPLE harmed take justice into their own hands, with regard to a corrupt system, the murderer invovlved, and the judge who made his release possible.. ONE WAY OR ANOTHER.. AN EYE FOR AN EYE- THIS IS JUSTICE-

The judges didn't drop the ball, this is a clear case of money and influence getting a criminal off.

The excuses given by the judicial system for failing to hold this guy accountable clearly speak of criminal willful negligence by those in power.
