looking for work

I am looking for honest information from anyone who has or is working for ACS on Yorkshire. The data entry dept.

I have the opportunity to leave my job as a warehouse associate that I hate to work there.

But I really don't understand how they pay you based on rate. If you worked there how much was your pay? How many hours a day did you work?

I asked all these questions during the interview but I thought I would try to get information from others.

I have worked in alot of depts at ACS, it is a very tough job to keep regardless how well you perfom they are Always Changing Shit. I have also worked in the data entry dept... the pay sounds good because they pay peice rate the problem is once you hit a certain rate they knock you back down, not to mention if there is any down time for anything, as in if the system crashed or you have to go to the bathroom then you get paid 99 time and its like 8 a hour at most. It is something to think about. I will state I was never fired nor did I hate any dept I worked for so I am not a bitter ex employee, just stating my point of veiw. Not a real steady job.

I worked at Yorkshire in the bcbs data entry dept where they did health insurance claims. I worked there before they went to piece rate and left shortly after they established piece rate because the piece rate amount was so low. That's been 3 years ago so maybe they have it together now. If the piece rate is a good amount and you focus on your work and not chat to your neighbors, you basically earn what you want since you determine the speed of your claims. It wasn't a horrible place to work, I've worked at a few locations. Good luck!

Um acs is not a good place to work. they have a reputation for having an extremely high turn-over rate and they will literally hire anyone off the streets without doing a proper background check.

i worked at the one in Pikeville when i lived there then I transferred to the Leestown Rd location in Lexington when i moved there, then to the Yorkshire location.

the only reason they are still in business is because they have contracts with major companies like Sprint and MetLife and a few others.

so if you smoke weed, crack, pop pills or do any other type of drugs, worry not. You're hired. even if you have a felony that is very recent you are hired. the majority of people working there fit the categories mentioned, including managers and supervisors.

that explains the reason for the high turnover rate, not to mention the piece rate type of pay. its up to you. if you are going to do the data entry, you might end up sitting next to a crackhead or a rapist. your choice.

oh, on top of that, you might have an 18 year old supervisor/manager with little or no prior experience pecking around and telling you what to do just because of their title.

I used to work at ACS, and to answer your question about the hours, I used to work 12 1/2+ hours on Mon, Tues, Wed, and 10 1/2 on Thurs and Fri. And then sometimes 6-8 on Saturday. The worst part was they never told you in advance what your hours were going to be on any day. It would be 2:00 or 2:30 and the supervisor would announce, "This is going to be a 12 hour day" or even a 14 or 16 hour.
I would not recommend that place to anybody who wasn't just absolutely desperate.

Also, they graded your work at random and you might lose 10%-40% of your pay.

the only type of people acs is good for is "older" people ...like seniors (65+) who have lived their life and dont want to sit at home all day.

this is not a job for someone who has a family to raise or REAL bills to pay (mortgage, car note, electric bill, groceries, etc) because you can never count on your paycheck to be the same amount every 2 weeks or twice a month...or however they are choosing to pay now.
