You can still see him. His office is in nicholasville. I believe its called commonwealth rehabilitation. He just left Lexington clinic to go out on his own. Great man. Go look him up in nicholasville.

They go after every doc that perscribes pain medicine. we all will have to go to Florida before long if we dont speak up. Druggies are ruining the pain treatment care for ppl in chronic pain.

I never got a letter, my wife called to remind them we needed a copy of clinic notes for KRS and found out on answering machine. I know he wanted to open a new.clinic in the Krogers Plaza area toward LEX, I so damn hope thats what he is doing. Nobody in W. KY gives you a rx bigger than 5 Lortab....I'm on 60 mg oxy 3x/day...talk about a hell of a withdrawal coming on! Shit fire! He was a true friend and very respectful doctor that did matter!

I also wonder what happened to Dr. Brooks. I'd been a patient for over 6 yrs. Then BAM just rcd a letter saying he wasn't there anymore. Spoke with Martha and she said the new corp heads just want physical rehab - no docs. She said he took patient contact info; but not the patient files. Last time I was there he told me I might be contacted by DEA, they'd been looking at his files. Why can't cops go after REAL drug dealers instead of caring doctors? I guess thats to dangerous. Damn, He was a good common sense doc and all around good guy. Hope he opens own place & lets us know.
However, when most docs quit, retire, have problems, etc., THEY let you know & give you last script & time to find new doc. I'm disappointed he didn't do that & just left us all scrambling. I thought better of him.
Has anyone found a new pain doc? or do we all have to go to Fla?
If anyone finds out Brooks has opened new office, Please post info.

I was also a patient of his for years. Consider him wonderful doc and nice guy. That's why I don't understand the mystery & his actions. A corp change I understand not giving a damn about patients it doesn't want. However, At the very least I think it damned inconsiderate & unethical that HE didn't contact us and give us 411.
I had my regular appt next week. I had planned upcoming surgery & he'd agreed to handle the pain management part. Now, I have to postpone that until/if I find another pain doc. I, like most/all of you, have physical problems that can't be cured. And reg docs, orthopedics, even surgeons, etc., agree that you're in bad shape but then act like they're doing you a big favor prescribing ultram or Lortab 5. Fewer & few docs care if you're in pain.
I've tried his email in case he's still checking that -- it's [email protected] I still can't believe the doc I saw for years would just vanish without telling us.

A few posts/responses say that Brooks has his office in nicholiasville, next to a day old bakery. That's where he USED to be. He's no longer there. A new corp bought "Commonwealth rehab" and they don't want doctors - just physical therapy. So he's no longer there.
Unfortunately, he's just disappeared with NO explanation & very little notice, which leaves all of his patients scrambling for a new doc. I thought more of him. I thought he really cared for his patients.

----------Not anymore. A new corporation bought the place & Brooks has disappeared w/o a trace. They're not going to replace him. And if you want your medical records you'd better contact the office [not Brooks #, that's been disconnected]. You have until 4/20/11 to get your records. I don't know what happens to them after that date.

I reallly hope we don't have to make trips to Florida! I think he will comeback to Lexington. He was a really nice doctor. He would talk to you like he understands your pain... and if you had a problm he would talk to you. Not like most other doctors "dont care"!

I really like what you said . I was last seen by DR .Brooks 3-18-2011 and we talking about gas prices and i told him i live 15 miles out of Winchester and it was making it hard on me driving to Nicholasville and he said he drives from Hamburg to Nicholasville was hard on him as well.
I told him i was hopping he would open a office in Hamburg he said maybe i will. So lest all hope he will. I have really bad pain .
