What makes the difference what it was or what he was driving I guess you cross the street at the cross walk.

Report said he run the stop sign and hit the truck.
I live off Anniston and I see these kids out on these things. There's at least 2 that ride ATV's. There's many that ride scooters and I know most aren't old enough to be riding them. There's also a Gator and a few other "non street legal" vehicles ridden by young kids. This area is also full of kids ages 6-17 that are out well past curfew, walk/stand in the middle of the roads and won't move for cars.

We've nearly hit people running stop signs on atv/scooters a few times. I nearly ran over 4 teens walking down the yellow middle line at 3am when I come around a corner. Any given time during the day or night in this area there's a potential for horrible tragic accidents. There's people driving 45-65 mph on the 25-35 mph limit roads. Like Anniston. I call and inform the shift cops anytime I see them. I watched a car turn off Anniston at about 55 mph in a mustang. He drifted the car around the turn and nearly nailed 2 teens parked in front of their house and my car. He could've easily nailed all that and or rolled his car into our yards. We have 4 kids between 2 house aged 2-10 that play out there. We won't let them ride bikes in the street and only let them play in the yard when we're watching. That still can't protect against idiots that lose control and run off the road.

I've long said somebody was going to get killed out here the way parents let their kids do whatever. It's tragic that it happened and maybe now the cops will start doing more about these kids out here. I've seen them ignore all these things at all hours of the day and night.

This is Michael's sister. His friend's wanted to remember him where he passed away at. They wanted to show their love and support for him and our family. What difference doors it make where it's at. It's not your property. It was a place to go to remember him until we could have a proper place to go. We even had a offer to put the memorial up on someone elses yard on the other corner. I am sure we will continue to put stuff t here that is where my baby brother died. Don't worry about what we do our put stuff.

i am sure thats what someone wants to walk out and see everyday. just saying, if you owned any property you wouldnt want to have all of this laying all over it. its disrespectful to the property owner. set one up in your yard. that way not only can the kids pay tribute to him, they can also share their memories with you. makes more sense.

For one it wouldn't bother me at all if it was my property. I have more heart than that. The lady and gentleman across the street has offered to put it on their property if it became a problem with that corner. So I guess you will have to look at it for awhile longer. It really anger's me that the only thing you worry about is that their is a memorial site, and not the fact that a young man died. Have a little compassion. And if you haven't noticed most of the stuff is gone. And if I lived in Lexington I would have kid's put stuff in my yard. Try to be more compassionate you never know when it may be you,God forbid.

Actually the property between the side walk and street belongs to the city.

Don't argue with stupid. It's not there business. Doesn't seem to bother the people that live around there. We have even got water for the flowers that was there from people that live across the street. No one has to take care of anything we will. If it becomes a problem for the people that own the house, which by the way is empty. Then we will move it to across the street like the nice people said we could. Actually only the city can ask us to move it. Just quit worrying about something that has nothing to with you. I will pray for you tonight that you find a little sympathy for a grieving family. We are doing the best we can and doing anything and everything to remember him and honor him. Just leave us be.

you are an idiot the property between the sidewalk and street is the home owners responsibility and yes its actually an easmant for the city but the home owner is responsible.if you have trees in between the sidewalk and street the city only cuts what's hanging over the road.can you explain that?..im just gonna assume that you don't own any property.
