Wasn't the music teacher Mr. Cook? Do you remember the field day games? I remember a movie about and little angel falling from heaven that couldn't walk because it didn't have its wings yet. We all sat in the center of the 4 room complex. My best friend at that time was Vickie Brock do you know or remember her? WOW this is great!

Dixie is on Eastland PKY. I drove by not to long ago and it has changed so much. I love my years there. I would love to find Kim (Heilig) and Vicky (Brock) they were my best grade school friends. All of us are in our 40s now. I's love to see everyone again. What is your sons name? Did he go to the one on Eastland PKY?

I went there the first year that it opened in the fall of 1966.Mr. Osbourne was the principle. It wasn`t finished in time for school to start that fall so we went to school somewhere else for about 2 months (I don`t remember what school we went to).I lived on Charleston Ct.Went to Yates before that.

I went to Dixie in 1971-1973 5th and 6th grade after moving to Lexington from Maine. I remember Mrs Gregory, Mr Simms,(teachers) and Mr Osbourne was still the principal then. Wow I remember that fantastic music room of Mr Cook's! I must say I went to 7 different school between kindergarten and 12th grade and that music room was the most memorable. That man could really teach, too. I'd love to know where he is now. That was 40 years ago so he must be 70+ by now. He gave me a great love of music. I believe his music room was featured in the newspaper around the time I had him as a teacher. I now live in Nova Scotia Canada and haven't been back to Kentucky since 1974. I wonder where we all ended up?

Wow i cant believe i found this. My husband went to Dixie and was just reminiscing about the wonderful music class he had going to this school and how the classroom was so fantastic. He was raving on how Mr. Cook was one of the best teachers he has had and still remembers some of the lessons. His name is Tim McCoskey he went to this school 1971-1976. He was part of the Corral and the Echoes. Does anyone remember him. Does anyone know what happened to Mr. Cook?
