They just can't grasp that the money they've put into Social Security, what they've worked for, is being taken away from them. Well, the ones who've worked anyway. By the posts some of them make, you can tell they're head check recipients! They can't comprehend what's happening to them. Republican Teabaggers go after the weak and uneducated! Easy targets!

Seems the opposite is true. The vast majority of those receiving government benefits are Democrat.

Does President Obama Want to Cut Social Security by 3 Percent?

One of the items that continuously comes up in reference to the budget deficit is President Obama’s support for the plan put forward by the co-chairs of his deficit commission, Morgan Stanley director Erskine Bowles and former Senator Alan Simpson. On numerous occasions President Obama has indicated his support for this plan.

One of the items in the Bowles-Simpson plan is a reduction in the annual cost-of-living adjustment of roughly 0.3 percentage points.
The plan also would gradually raise the age at which retirees receive full benefits to 69. It also phases in a reduction in benefits for workers whose earnings averaged more than $40,000 a year over their working lifetime.

When President Obama indicates his support for the Bowles-Simpson plan, he is indicating his support for all of these measures.

Uncle Tab, can't believe you have lowered yourself to the name calling of wtf!!!! We all have varied opinions and that is the way it should be. Nothing wrong with a little debating, but it has become so ugly in here with all the name calling.
I for one do watch FOX, but I also watch CNN, NBC, CBS, etc., etc. I also read a great deal to try to obtain a wide view of all the facts. Even doing this, I am still strongly conservative and that is my right. You have the same right to be strongly liberal. We can all just agree to disagree. It is as simple as that.
Very true about name calling, but I've been here for a few years and was like you. Didn't do the name calling. But after a few weeks I got tired of it and gave back what was given. And the pure deception given by many republicans, it's just sad. The Muslim thing, the birther thing, and it goes on and on with distortion. No political party is perfect, and being a union man and working hard for what I have and my dad being a union man invthevearly days at General Electric in Louisville ky, I'm always going to be for the working man and woman. I'm not for the super rich getting catered to with big tax breaks for jobs and not getting the jobs in return. It doesn't work and they need to stop sucking money from the less fortunate. It's just as simple as that.

Has to be cut now because of republican mismanagement..... And the ones who need the income worse and most of the ones who have worked all thier life, won't be able to collect anything they contributed to when they need it most. And for what? So the super rich can get huge tax breaks that we're given to produce more jobs?? Where are the jobs at??

It's just common sense, if it doesn't work, get rid of it.

The tax breaks are nothing more than socialism for the rich. Can't have it both ways.

Well it is class warfare. Those who earn in the lower income brackets pay "ZERO" federal income taxes. Also who is saying that its Patriotism to raise taxes on the elderly and working poor? And why shouldn't everyone pay taxes? Those on the higher end uses less of the services yet we pay the majority of taxes. Why not pay something into the system? Those on the lower end see no incentive to move up because then they would have to pay taxes. It's inequality and at some point gouging the higher and middle class is going no where. By having only half of our population pay taxes while the other half pay nothing is getting us broke fast.
So your logic is that the working poor don't WANT to "move up" the career ladder because they will have to pay some federal tax. So these people CHOOSE to be poor? To keep from paying federal tax? So the Walmart workers, hamburger flippers, secretaries, retail clerks say "Please no raise! I will have to pay federal tax."

A family making minimum wage who currently pay payroll tax, sales tax, property tax, vehicle tax, pay nothing huh? But the solution to fixing our economy is for the federal government to take some more out of their take home pay. That extra something that probably goes to food, supplies, maybe a new appliance, or if they're really lucky a weekend trip out of town. Do you understand what that little extra they spend does? It creates jobs!!! It takes consumers to demand products and services to create jobs!! You see that little bit extra they keep, goes right back into the economy. Unlike the top percent who hoard their money, bouncing it from tax shelter to tax shelter, the lower half spends almost every dollar they make, not by choice, but out of survival. You ever notice how the economy booms when people get their refunds? Republican solution: take more from people who have nothing. Now how bout the elderly that have already paid their share of taxes, ungrateful, unmotivated freeloaders!

Here is how tax cuts could create jobs! Cut the taxes on the self employed who pay almost 30% in payroll tax alone. Then only offer businesses tax cuts based on the number of Americans they employ. Big corporations will get big tax cuts in relation to the percentage of their American worforce. For example if your workforce is 10% American your tax rate goes down 1%, 50% goes down 5%. That's of course just a simple math explanation but the point is, tax cuts that are intended to create jobs must be tied directly to the jobs they create.

The 47% that pay no taxes has been used as a (stupid) talking point by right-wingers for a long time. Problem is, they don’t see it as an economic problem that needs to be corrected, they use it trying to insult and demean as did Mitt ‘the dick’ Romney! Now, if he could only be bothered to find the factual info on it, he would find that it is far more complicated than just a stupid wingnuz talking point!

Shouldn't Romney and his party be happy about this? They are the ones pushing low or no taxes and small gov't ... that 47% is way ahead of them!

Breaking news...The DOJ cleared the DOJ and their agency leader Eric Holden of any wrongdoing in the Fast and Furious fiasco just in time for Obama's re-election!

To summarize...another big F*CK YOU to the murdered Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry and his family. The first big eff you to the Terry family came when Pelosi and all the dems walked out when the other politicians on the Hill were attempting to get facts concerning the Fast and Furious fiasco.

We have seen in the past just how well it works out when you allow people to police themselves. Somehow they come up out of that bucket of shit smelling like a rose even though they are still knee-deep in all kinds of shit.

You people will fall for anything and you are living proof that Obama's decision to rely on your stupidity was the right path for him to take when his narcissistic legacy was taking the wrong path. Reel 'em back in Barry, reel those fish back in!

The point that most Repubs miss is just how much wealth the rich have. It is hard to imagine but this may help. The Richest 400 people in the US have more wealth than ALL the bottom 150,000,000 (that's 150 million) Americans COMBINED.
