I'm a registered Democrat, am a Jeffersonian Democrat in philosophy and am disgusted with both parties.

The current "leadership" (I say that loosely) in the Democrat party is so far removed from the Democrats of Truman's ilk or JFK's vision for America as to make their representation of my party unrecognizable and, in my humble opinion, anti-American.

On the other hand, there's nothing resembling leadership, even bad leadership, in the Republican party.

I may register as an Independent next time, after decades as a Democrat.

i feel that political parties are stupid. some people ar egoing to choose a party based on what there parents are. though this is not true in some cases it is most. haveing political parties divides the US and a bad candidate will be elected into office due to what "they SAY they believe" and not what kind of a leader they might be. anyone can say the support or do not support something and could be lying through there teeth just to win. americas first president george washington was against the idea of political parties. he felt it would split the country and cause drama, and i think he was right.

I think the point is, last time Republicans won VA and NJ governorships after Democrats had control, it signaled massive Republican wins in Congress two years later. Barring some major intervening event, its a good indicator.
