3 Why don't you find something else to cry about. Christians could care less what you support. If you want to have happy Friday IT'S YOUR CHOICE!!!! We don't care, but we also don't try to force you to call it "Friday" instead of "Happy Friday" |

1 Uh, we're not crying, Govenor Beshear did the right thing. Now, it's the Christians that are crying because they liked their special treatment they've been receiving for years. Sorry, but it's over! |

1 You are crying about it....How about we take down the "Gay Pride" signs down in downtown Lexington each year. OHHH but wait......you don't hear us screaming about that do ya? Oh and by the way, it's not over and never will be! So maybe you should get used to that! |

3 If you do not want to celebrate that holiday, that is your right. But, it is NOT your right to interfere with those who do wish to participate in the holiday. It is also not your right to change the intent of the Christmas, the designation of 'what' is being commemorated, or alter the method used to celebrate. I would never dream of demanding that the Jewish faith abandon their religious holidays throughout the year or hide the items placed on display during that year - and you won't hear me whining about them either. Hopefully it won't come to an alteration of the 4th of July holiday being changed or dropped altogether because so many of the population of the U. S. do NOT celebrate, recognize, or otherwise care about the Independence of America. Veteran's Day could be compromised now that so much of the population does not agree with the wars that so many veterans gave their lives for our country. The previous two holidays are most often celebrated with the display of our flag. Certainly that is a 'decoration' that many in America are not fond of, particularly respectful to, or willing to embrace. So will it soon be 'goodbye to Old Glory'? Thanksgiving probably doesn't mean a great deal to a large portion of our population because they are not inclined to care one way or the other about how or why the pilgrims held their feast and celebration. Can the turkey be on its way out? It is difficult to understand why - when America is continually being reminded that we must open our shores, our borders, out pocketbooks, our jobs, our policies, and our patience to so many individuals from other countries who arrive each embracing their own beliefs - we are being forced give up so many of our own freedoms, and so often at the insistence not of the 'newly arrived population', but instead by native-born Americans with generations of ancestors. No one is making anyone say 'Merry Christmas', display a Christmas tree in their own home, attend church on Christmas Eve, buy anyone a present, or in other way 'participate' in the celebration of the birth of Christ, but Christmas is going to be Christmas regardless of what you make Christians call it. It seems very un-American for Christians to have to hide their beliefs to ensure that non-believers are not tempted to even think about what the Christmas Tree and the Nativity Scene depicts. Why do the actions of Christians at Christmas bother you so? What gives you the right to change a belief that you don't endorse in the first place? Just turn a blind eye and mind your own business and your own beliefs. Oh yes, and Merry Christmas to one and all. |

2 Judi - Most of the holidays you mention have nothing to do with religion and would not be affected by the constitutional separation of church and state. So really, your entire rant/post is irrelevant and off topic. The point you should be addressing is that the Constitution forbids recognizing a specific religion by the government and to have a "Christmas Tree" violates that section of the law as determined by the Supreme Court in various cases. |

3 you yo-yos don't even know what the phrase "separation of church and state" actually means - and, if you care, why not point out exactly where it's mentioned in the constitution - |
