I would hate that but at same time, it would teach a bunch of lazy, union dipshitz to actually do what they are asked to do and quit running to a union steward everytime a supervisor asks them to do something. True story, parts sitting in recieving, was around six, saw a supervisor ask a forklift driver to go get them to keep line going, guy refused, said not my job, at this point line had stopped, parts sitting other building would keep them going, employee and union steward said no, not his responsibility, craziest crap i have ever seen. I wish it would close for few months just to teach people a lesson

Nicolej,
You probably never did any actual work in your life, how would you know what a union is for.
Without them we are slaves to the big machine. Yes one day even you will wish for some kind of protection when the machine rolls over you.

Well...we are all slaves to the big machine...what else is new. At least I will be working and making money ( a little bit longer than you )and you'll be out on the street because you want three times as much to do the same job. The union started as a good thing but they got greedy and too lazy and made themselves obsolete. Fact o life. Hell.... Non union can't compete with mexicans let alone the union.
It's a lost cause. Do you hear that big sucking sound Ross Perot warned of??

Your was response was so idiotic im not sure it deserves a reply. People like me make it possible for ignorant high school drop outs like you to afford the lot fee for your trailer. Without the big machine, idiots like yourself would be jobless, homeless and starving. Keep biting the hand(s) that feed you and see what happens.

True story....
I used to work with a guy....he quit and went union( electrician). His first job was at Toyota in gtown. He drove a Toyota....well...some of his proud union coworkers started leaving him nasty notes on his windshield about "buying American" and whatnot. Are youfuckingpeopleserious??!! You are working at TOYOTA FOR GODS SAKE!!!! the union trades are in Toyota like hair on a gorilla. Go figure....bunch of fuckinghypocrits. HAHA. the union mentality is an amazing thing to behold. Lazy, want to get paid big money for doing as little as possible. You fuckingpeople need to get a grip on reality. You will when you are out of a job and on the street because you are an overpaid lazy ass!

There was a very good reason for unions at one time & I thank them for getting the Gov to create certain laws like the 40 hr week, OSHA, workers comp & more. BUT they have never adapted to that & other issues like pricing themselves out of jobs & FORCING companies to leave the U.S. so that they could produce goods that they can sell affordably HERE in the U.S. Think about it.
I have been union twice. NOW I would avoid a union job or a union product.
And to the putzs that it was stated leaving notes for a Toyota wotker about buying American. There are so many Camry's being made at the NON-UNION G'twn plant that they are exported. Think about that too.

Keep working harder for less and less money and no benefits until you can't feed your kids. Blame the unions, I don't think so.

If you are talking to me...the only thing that I am blamimg unions for is NOT evolving with the times. For NOT being aware that when pay & benefits get to a certain level, companies are FORCED to take production elseware. That does NOT serve their members to completely lose a job.
Most companies if not all, would avoid the cost of of relocating & building a new facility overseas for millions & millions PLUS the transition costs, the lawyers, the government red tape etc.
UT there comes a point when that is exactly what they need to do to keep the stockholders/investors happy, to avoid bankruptcy & to simply be able to still sell their product at affordable prices.
IF People can't afford to buy it. they have to downsize or even close their doors.
Then there is increased profit loss & increased unemployment because MORE people are out of work.
I believe that ALL business is a THREE sided triangle. Company on one side, employees on another & customers on the 3rd side. There is a balance because without ALL 3, the triangle falls apart.
The customer may still need the product but can go somewhere else, the employee can look for another job, but the company is gone/done & can NO longer put people to work.
That is economics 101 folks.

I don't know for certain if Trane is moving or not BUT I DO KNOW this...the two times that I worked in a union, there was NO UNION! For the most part The employees cared only about themselves. MOST (not all) wouldn't even hold a door or elevator for someone that was pushing, pulling or carrying something because "it wasn't their job description"! BULL STUFF! They wouldn't even be considerate of others, only themselves. That is just plain mean, selfish, narcissitic, anti-social & whatever else. It wasn't all, but it was way too many & that was their reason, NOT their job description. SAD

<quoted text>
If laws were different companies wouldn't go overseas, just because workers want a fair workplace. Unions politically represent workers, and try to change laws. Unions are not responsible for sending jobs overseas, greedy companies are. The reason you have a job here is because you are forced to work in an unfair workplace. Also you are a obviously too stupid to realize this. Most people in this country have become stupid, so you have plenty of company there. This country has become hopeless, as long as stupid people like you are running the country. I'm way too intelligent to be expressing my opinions on this post.
