I just read an interesting letter to the editor of Glamour Magazine. It was in response to an article called "What Counts As Cheating Now?" (June Issue). The responder was amazed that 84% of women polled DONT believe a man is cheating when he recieves a lap dance from a stripper. I also never thought of it as cheating. BUT this reader made a great point..."If a woman in a relationship decided to seductively remove her clothes for another man and grind on his lap, it would certainly be considered cheating. It's a ridiculous double standard." I know for a fact my boyfriend would flip-out and call it cheating if I did this. I have no problem with strippers at all, just found the article interesting and it made me re-think my stance on the issue. What are your thoughts folks? Especially interested in the strippers point of view.

Its a bad argument. If you were employed as a stripper and giving lap dances for money, and your boyfriend/husband is aware of your occupation, he should not care. Now if you "seductively remove your clothes for another man and grind on his lap" for no reason but to be doing it, thats cheating.

Well lets look at it this way, if a man does not think it is cheating for him to receive a lap dance from a woman, would he let his girlfriend/wife/significant other receive one from a man?

Sure, I would. Whats far for the goose is fair for the gander. My girlfriend doesnt care if I go to strip clubs. She has went to the Chippendales show with friends before and I've been cool with it, although she said that it was pretty lame. Point is, neither of us feel threatened. Oh, and I've actually paid for a lapdance for my girlfriend, but the stripper was a chick.

Of course you'd be cool with it...I totally agree with your girlfriend, male strippers are lame. Something just not right about it and they're always oily...uugh! I'd rather have dance from a female stripper if I had to choose and I am not even bi. My girlfriends and I went to a strip club once because the curiosity was killing us. We had to have a male escort or they wouldn't let us in. What's up with that? Luckily there were plenty of guys in the parking lot more than willing to walk us in. The experience wasn't that big a deal, actually kind of fun. But in response to "Menifee", I am willing to bet most boyfriends or husbands wouldn't enjoy watching another man grind his "unit" in their girlfriend's or wife's face. I know mine wouldn't. Are you male or female Menifee...just to help me see your perspective???

lol I am female. You are right most men wouldn't like that tho I know there are a few who are ok with it. It is just too many people I know go by the old double standard. It does not bother me if hubby went and I am sure it wouldnt bother him if I did. But that is the reason I said that is because of the people I know would flip. Old double standard thing here. Many men would use the lame excuse " Oh I am a man, it is different for me."

I hear ya on that one. It wouldn't bother me if hubby got lap dance or wouldn't bother hubby either if I did, but most men I know would get pissed.

A few yrs, back my hubby went to a club, dropped alot of money there, that pissed me off so I said I'd go and see what it was like, I had never been. He did not want me to go but I went anyways, got a lap dance from a guy and got offered a job, hubby was even more pissed about that, Actually the night I went, when the guys weren't dancing they were sitting at my table, it was a good time.Your right it is a double standard....

Those situations aren't too threatening I suppose but my original point was about a man's girlfriend or wife "performing" for another man. Noodle, be honest, would you be ok if your girl performed a seductive lap dance in the nude and "dry humped" another man, which is basically what a lap dance is? Some couples are into that "watching" thing, but I just have the opinion that if you respect and love your woman, you are not going to enjoy watching her "perform" for another man.

ok but your naked boyfriend isnt dancing for the girl. she is naked dancing for him. so you cant really flip the script and say you dancing on some other dude. i wouldnt care for my girl to get a lap dance from a naked dude. then agian if she got naked on some other dude rubbing her body all over him thats a different story.

as far as your double standard goes. try this one on. my brother who is married, is not allowed to go to the strip clubs. his wife even broke up his bachelor party after we got her to ok it. now this doesnt bother me hes a married man in some peoples eyes(60 yr olds) thats wrong. now why this bothers me is because on superbowl sunday this year, there was an all male review at platinum plus. guess who was trying to go, thats right his wife. the only reason she didnt go is cause she couldnt talk any of her friends into going. hows that for your double standard. he cant go but she can

My husband and I both agree it is cheating. We neither go to those places & we are just as happy as any other couple. That is just our opinion on this topic.

lmao you go girl! Of course hubby would want to go when the men weren't dancing lol. I would have told him I wanted the excact same amount he dropped to those girls. After all you are the one doing his cooking and cleaning etc. So I would tell him this " If you want to go then go. We are going to write up an agreement and sign it. You can spend exactly $50. There are 4 catches to this though.
1) You take only $50 with you (especially if you have kids you are raising, they need that money, a stripper does not).
2) You have to give me $100 since I am the one doing the cooking and cleaning etc. so I deserve a lot more than a stripper does, and these girls are not doing ANYTHING for you except getting naked etc.,
3) You go this weekend and I go next weekend to see the men dance and I get to spend $50 on the men for dances, drinks etc. I will give you $75, I would say Ide give you $100 but you lose $25 for starting this double standard shyt.
4)Tell him " If you want to go alone and do not want me there then I get to go alone to see the men dance.FAIR is FAIR now.
See how he responds when you want him to sign it.
If he wont sign it or agree to letting you go alone if he does, then tell him THIS crap is done with, IF I CANT go alone then why should you be able to? If I cant go alone neither can you and now this dumb shyt is over because NEITHER Of us are goin.
Be interesting to see a mans take on this :))

I had never been to a strip club before and didn't have a problem with him going but this is what happened... my son was at a friends playing cards, they heard something going on down the hall and went to look, there was this guy beating his wife and kids and trying to throw them out of thier apt. My son and his friend went to help, first they grabbed the kids out of the apt. and then while trying to help get the woman out her husband grabbed a knife and almost cut my sons nose off, that was the night my hubby was at the club, as I was going to the hospital to be with my son, hubby was just coming in the door. Next day he told me he had been playing pool and had lost 200.00, later I found out he lied to me and where he was really at, so thats why I went because he lied about it. To the best of my knowledge he has never went back because he didn't like the fact that I went and got offered a job, so that took care of that.....

Well, it depends. In this scenario is my girlfriend actually employed as a stripper, or is she just giving a lapdance to a random guy for the hell of it?. The first= okay. The second= not okay.
