I can't speak for all pain management patients, but, the reason why so many people buy off the street is BC Ky has one of the highest pill mills/pill addicts in the country. So, now almost all the doctors here won't prescribe meds even to legitimate pain patients. Plus, heroin is much cheaper. It wasn't to long ago that Canada, Australia and Great Britain doctors actually prescribed pharmaceutical heroin for pain patients. Heroin is just another form of pain medicine and some people have no choice, live in pain, buy heroin or slit their wrists. I think it's pretty pathetic that pain patients seek out heroin BC pill junkies scared most of the doctors from prescribing. I really think they shouldn't make heroin illegal for legitimate pain patients. Heroin and or marijuana are the only 2 illegal drugs that have other purposes beside getting high. There is no therapeutic need for cocaine, crack, or ecstasy, and they should be illegal. Oxycontin and fentanyl is 50x stronger than heroin, but that's not illegal to prescribe? Doesn't make much sense to me.
