During last weeks snow we were headed back to Lexington after a trip out of town, at 5:20 Pet Suites called us and told us they were closing early due to snow, they told us they would close at 6pm, we told them we would be there at 6:15. Tough they said you would have to wait until the next day to get our dog. OK no one stays there overnight with the dogs and cats, if something happens to your pet while there you are out of luck. Stay far away from this place.

They also don't feed the dogs what they tell you they do.

Uptown Hounds on Angliana Ave. off of Harrodsburg Road is very nice. That's where we take our dog. They have a website.

How do you know that? This is a first class operation that doesn't deserve to be run down by someone who didnt have enough sense allow for bad weather.

My fur babies have stayed overnight at both. Uptown is more pricey but they seemed to enjoy their stay. I even got them the room with the TV and had them put it on animal planet for the night. Plus you can pay extra for more walks and potty breaks. People stayed there over night too. I think Pet Suites have people who stay overnight with the animals. I just don't think after a certain time they let people pick up.

I used to know someone who worked at a pet boarding facility and I was told that the reason you are not allowed to pick up a pet after a certain time is because they have only a minimal staff with the pets, sometimes only one person. If someone comes to the door who is NOT supposed to be there, it could endanger all of the animals at the facility, so they do not allow them to even open the door. People have been known to pose as pet owners and pick up pets that weren't theirs (after hours) and even try to rob and steal other pets, so owners have to be understanding of the policies.

I've always had a great experience at Petsuites. I'm not aware of the snow storm you are speaking of but it doesn't seem unreasonable that if bad weather is approaching that business may close early. I know from experience that Petsuites doesn't charge for another day unless you pick up after noon. I disagree with your comments and find their staff to be the best in town hands down. Their hours are super convenient and open 7 days per week too.

I can only say good things about Pet Suites. The staff have always been polite and helpful. My dog goes over for daycare and he loves the attention they give him. They know him when he gets there. I feel good when I drop him off, just knowing he is in a safe place. I think their prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is bright and happy. I think your negative feedback comes from people you couldn't please no matter what services you offered! I recommend them highly!

My dogs have been wonderfully taken care of at PetSuites. They have been going there for 5 years and are always happy when pulling into the parking lot. I don't think it's appropriate to trash a good, solid, welcoming business because they had to close due to terrible weather. For all we know, the interstates were shutting down. Employees do need to be able to get home safely. Many companies have to close early during winter storms. I highly recommend PetSuites and certainly would tell everyone I know with a dog or cat to give them a try.

I picked my dog up and he appeared wild eyed. I asked if there had been a fight or if he had been given meds. I was told no. My dog was wild and in satisfied then slept hard. I noticed 2 knots on his shoulder on the way home. I specifically said I didn't want him in group play!!? So what caused this!!? I am furious!!!!

Anyone have experience boarding cats in the Louisville area. My cats have never been boarded and will freak out around dogs.

Well my dog had shells and hives throughout the week. I said plainly to keep him alone and they put him with the other dogs! Furious!!!!! He had an anxiety attack. The place lied 3 times about how they treated my dog! I should have asked for a refund!

You are completely off base with your comments. I use to work there and recently moved or would still be there. They would never but your dog with others dogs unless you requested it. They don't play for 80 minutes and rest for 40. They have their own room and play with a staff member or with other dogs if the owner wants it. They get plenty or rest time! The staff loves these pets and treat them we'll.

Terrible place to board your dog.. If you are not there by 12:00 the next day they will charge you for another full day of daycare. Also you can not add daycare to your dogs stay to avoid the additional day of boarding. This place has it all wrong

In response to the "unhappy pet owner" I have boarded my dogs with Pet Suites for 6 years and have been very pleased with the attitude and condition in which they came back to me. I had tried 3 kennels prior to Petsuites and they didn't have an overnight attendant either. I'm sorry you had to wait an additional day to pick up your pet but human safety on snowy streets should have been a priority.
