Multiple sexual partners. Try ending one relationship before you start sleeping with the next one.

I dont know myself. I do remember in 2008 I experienced a smell. MY doctor at that time sent me to a specialist in Lexington and he tested me 2 different times and said it was bacteria but it wasnt coming from me. For me to tell my husband at that time now ex husband to wear condoms when we had sex. I can now say I no longer have that problem my kat smells good now at least I think so. Try douches, I do that after my periods and it keeps me smelling great.

Douche is the worst thing to try. They cause more than they fix.

Seriously? You are ignorant and if a doctor truly told you that, that doctor is an idiot. Now to the original poster, go to this wonderful website called webmd.com , it is a wealth of information or better yet, go see your doctor. There is a whole host of things that can cause a yeast infection. From eating too much sugar to having sex with someone infected with it already.

One of the most common ways to get a yeast infection is by taking too many bubble baths and not rinsing down there really good, also can be caused by getting too hot and wearing sweaty underwear too long. Also believe it or not taking certain antibiotics can cause them

A yeast infection won't cause your vaginal area to smell noone. It sounds like you had bacteria vaginosis. Douching is very bad for the vagina, so are all those scented soaps, and sprays they have on the market for women to use on their vaginal area. If your vaginal area smells, you need an antibiotic. A different view is right about what causes yeast infections. Wearing pants that are too tight, and wearing panties that don't have a cotton crotch can cause them as well. Also, be sure to pee, and clean yourself after sex.

Why when yeast infection is mention people jump to the conclusion that it must be in the gential region. Do you morons not know that this can occur in other areas as well. For example under arms, under the breast of women, and under hanging skin. People that have gastric bypass and have loose sking frequently get yeast infections under that loose skin, same with big breasted women. Not only that Diabetics are a whole lot more likely to get yeast infections. So don't be getting so upset about this until someone says specifically where the yeast infection is. Yes, when you have them in the gential region more than likely you picked it up from a sexual encounter just like any STD can be picked up this way. Not the only way, but the most likely way.

Yeast naturally exists in certain places in the body, including your vagina. A yeast infection easily occurs during or after the use of antibiotics (your natural pH system is affected, causing overgrowth of yeast). Yes, good hygiene is important, but stay away from douching, or other feminine products such as deodorant sprays or powders. Wear lose clothing, and cotton underwear, avoiding satin or small thongs. Yeast will naturally overgrow with heat (body) and water (vagina, mouth, sweating, wet clothes). Don't run around in your wet bathing suit, and avoid scented and non-hypo-allergenic bathing products. Also, having a vaginal, anal, or oral yeast infection can be spread to your partner. If you believe you have the symptoms (thicker, heavier discharge; redness and swelling; itching; and soreness or painful intercourse) see a doctor, take the medicine, have your partner treated as well, and refrain from ANY sexual activity until the MD has cleared you. Otherwise, you will continue passing it back and forth to one another. Hope this helps ~
most likely not yeast

It is most likely not yeast then, but then only a doctor can diagnose. If you do not have a discharge, then a whole slew of other things can be the problem. Just from you stating your age alone, I would just simply start with the easiest, most likely, and probably cheapest solution... KY lubrication. Women as they age, do in fact change when it comes to natural lubrication. However, your best bet is to GO see a doctor. I have IC, otherwise known as painful bladder syndrome. It can also cause pain during intercourse, but I had to go to a doctor to be diagnosed and this was going through years of trying to figure it out, and years of what I thought was many UTI's and the gotta go gotta go gotta go bladder. A DOCTOR is your best friend in this matter. Find a way to get one that can help.

Wished i had a quarter for every misdiagnosis.Im 44 and and realize at this point doctors arent God.They follow protocols and believe it or not they rule a lot out before they can actually tx. you and that makes perfect sense but most of them do not disclose that. Sounds like clymidia and im sorry if i mispelled but i had this and going thru med. school could have sworn it was yeast.Me and my partner took meds.It is a STD.Corn starch clealiness and no cotton panties plus prescribed meds is what you need. Certainly not a dr. but stating my experience.Every time you check into a dr. it goes towards his next mortage payment.Sad but very true.Your parnter needs to know and you need to do some very deep soul searching.
