The Republican Party machine’s ship keeps seeing holes appear left and right. From the beginning most of the people in Romney's own party did not want him as the “flavor of the week,” such as Cain, Gingrich, et-al was always preferred. Also, Trump, Palin, Paul, etc. supported other candidates as well. The highlight of his support has been a senile over- the- hill actor with an empty chair as his side kick. Romney’s apparent disconnect with ordinary citizens has them abandoning him has their “hope” in droves. The selection of Ryan as VP (along with his wanting to upend Medicare) started scaring off the elderly. The recent comments of a Repub Congressman’s “about legitimate rape” turned off many more women. Romney had already lost a huge amount of female support, especially single women. He goes to the Olympics and causes an uproar with the British questioning their capability of putting on the Olympics. He keeps refusing to disclose most of his tax returns. What is he really hiding? He has already acknowledged hiding earnings inn foreign banks to avoid taxes. Now, three new pieces of news hit the airwaves/newspapers this week:(1) independent research just released its findings that the Republican platform of cutting taxes for the rich has NEVER resulted in creating jobs for America (2) infighting with his own Republican leadership is tilting the balance of the ship.(3) Romney’s recent secretly recorded negative and inslting comments about nearly half of the electorate have created a windstorm of its own. He already has next to zero of the black vote, a very small percentage of the Hispanic vote, a huge deficit margin with single women. He is trailing in the big electoral states of NY, California, Illinois, Ohio and Florida. And his numbers keep slipping evey week. If he overcomes all this and still wins, then I’ll just accept it as it must be God’s will.

You should go tell that to the buffoons on the Pikeville forum. Those inbred hicks over there still think that Romney is ahead of Obama in the polls and that Romney is going to beat Obama out of the presidency in November for sure. They are behind the times. But then again, Pikeville still has the KKK and a festival called Hillbilly Days, so who is shocked? I'm honestly not a fan of Romney or Obama, but people need to come out of their denial and see the light. Romney's campaign is sinking like a rock dropped in the ocean, and yet, he still keeps sticking his foot in his mouth and alienating the middle class.

How about a few Republican moron-icons contributions to its demise? Trump spouting off about Obama’s birth certificate over and over and over. Since he is so wealthy, why didn’t he hire an apprentice to produce EVIDENCE of the hot air exuding from his pouty-faced lips? Republican Yoder’s skinny dipping in the Holy Land’s Sea of Galilee. You know, the same place where Jesus walked on the water. How about the evangelical far right wing of the Republican party? Their choices: - America’s two biggest Republican mega-twits: Sarah Palin and Rick Perry. One was a basketball player and the other a cheerleader in college (Perry was the cheerleader). - Ron Paul, whose “hero” in his youth (about a hundred years ago), was a Jewish- Russian atheist (Ayn Rand) and who didn’t want Bin Laden shot like the mass murderer he was. - And speaking of twat-heads, how about Gingrich and Cain? Their searches of new poon-tang helped cause their demise as a legitimate and viable political option. - About Catholic Newt Gingrich, one of the biggest hypocrits of all time? Gingrich is well known for dumping his wives for the “prettier” ones. He also dumped his fellow Baptists years ago (after they bailed him out of financial hardships) for the Catholic Church. He said he saw the Pope and “saw the light.”(maybe he was seeing too many Bud Lites at that moment). At the onset of his campaign for the Presidency, his entire team of a dozen or so caught him cruising in Europe and dumped him. A lot of dumping surrounds him.

However due to standard deductions and exemptions they get them back. Because they are so poor is why they pay no federal tax! They still pay FICA, state, property, sales, and city taxes! So they do pay taxes however they get their federal back because their wages are so low! This is the way our tax code is written so it is not poor peoples fault they get this money back.

However I doubt you will find any poor people with offshore accounts in the Cayman Islands to avoid paying taxes. My whole point is that the GOP talking point is that 47% of the American people don't pay taxes when in fact they do! In my opinion the government is to blame. It's the policies they pass on trade and business that have ruined the manufacturing industry, which is what a lot of the middle class jobs that provided good wages and benefits. And I can assure you both parties are to blame.

The other 12% pay taxes, but receive enough tax breaks to get a refund, so it's basically a wash. I knew you would find some way to discredit the rich following the same tax code as everyone else. Until the law is changed, that's the way it is. I would say the law will never change, because the rich, Dims such as Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank, Harry Reid, etc. don't want the tax code to change. Neither do Repubs.

Personally, I would like to try a true 35% with no deductions, exemptions, credits...zilch. I would take note to see if they could get by on 650 million bucks. I know times are hard. Here is what a little known entrepreneur said last year: Warren Buffett August 15, 2011 Mr. Super Billionaire himself, is telling America that the super rich are not paying their fare share of the taxes. He says that Congress coddles the rich. He says his office employees pay more % wise than he does. He says closing the loopholes can increase the capital gains tax. "My friends and I have been coddled long enough by a billionaire-friendly Congress," Buffett wrote. "It's time for our government to get serious about shared sacrifice." He has said the tax system has contributed to the growing gap between rich and poor. Buffett noted that the mega-rich pay income taxes at a rate of 15 percent on most investment income but practically nothing in payroll taxes. The middle class, meanwhile, typically falls into the 15 percent and 25 percent income tax brackets and is hit with heavy payroll taxes. He said Washington legislators "feel compelled to protect us, much as if we were spotted owls or some other endangered species." Buffett said he knows many of the mega-rich well, and most wouldn't mind paying more in taxes, especially when so many fellow citizens are suffering. He also said he has yet to see anyone shy away from investments because of tax rates on potential gains, even when rates were much higher in the mid-1970s, 1980s and 1990s. "People invest to make money, and potential taxes have never scared them off,"

If he is so intent on paying more taxes, why is he fighting the IRS on a large tax bill? Seems he talks out of both sides of his mouth. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/08/29/warr... What tired argument are you rolling out next?

A guy/gal named Nutz keeps offering no solutions of his own and keeps trying to encourage a dead horse to come back alive. Here is my take on a solution. Get a majority in both Houses (sans the Pelosis) and get the majority to agree on an emergency order that stays in place as long as both Houses and the President deem necessary. The plan would force the banks to finance homes for people (I think it’s called bailing out in banking circles) with a lower credit score. Mandate that no able body adult could receive any form of government compensation unless they either do work for the benefit of the country or for organized charities on an ongoing basis. No corporation could outsource any jobs overseas unless they want their company to forfeit the privilege and protection of this country. Give incentives to businesses to hire anyone who has been unemployed for 6 months or more with large fines otherwise. Round up all the drug dealers and shoot them on the spot to dissuade others from getting involved with drug trafficking. Tell all the American multimillionaires/billiionaire s that two-thirds of their fortune has been seized (borrowed) until they all get together and solve the economic mess they are partly responsible for. New manufacturing centers and ground-breaking hiring would be nice. Tell the schools to begin teaching most students subjects that they need in being a successful citizen rather than chemistry/calculus, etc. I could go on and on but I’m getting “tired” in my argument.
