Does anyone remember hearing about a woman jumping off the First National Bank Building, maybe in the 50's or 60's?.I remember my mom telling about it, and for years you could see the brass railing on the Upper St.side of the building that was bent when she landed on it.
I was just curious who the woman was and if anyone knew why she commited suicide,Thanks.

Yes, yes, yes. It was in June of 1966 I remember it well. I cant tell you why she did it. She landed on the railing that goes down into the basement stairway on the west side of the building. It was so sad, she was "decapitated".

Wondering. Marjorie Mack died in June 66 and just in April 66 an infant named David Mack had died...wonder if that was her?

Other relevant deaths to the month and year are

Dora Anglin (24)
Helen Boswell (36)
Audrey Jackson (45)
Margaret Johnson (19)
Euglena Mills (40)
Mabel Nelson (44)
Juanita Richardson (31)

I couldn't imagine a lady over 45 leaping from a building. Opal Snow was listed but Google answered that; died during childbirth. How depressing.

Hope my boredom of research helped narrow it down should June 66 be correct.

I remember my grandmother and I walking by it and she told me the story, but she didn't have a reason.

How do you search successfully? Anytime I've googled anything, it's only the simple, basic stuff.

Who cares? You had a fit of nostalgia so you took to Topix? Get a job and if you have one, get back to work. Loser!

Well, what kind of excuse do you have for being on here? It doesn't matter if we're being nostalgic, it's better that all the trash talk you see. It's nice to see that there is a shred of decent talk on here. I'd say, that if it were about something nasty, you'd be jumping up and down.
By the way, I do have a job, not that it's any of your business!
Now, you go and have yourself a marvelous day!

Talking about someone committing suicide is "decent talk"? The thread is beyond far fetched and lacks relevance to, well, anything really.

Why is it that every dick on here assumes people don't have jobs?

I know it's a tragic discussion. I was a small child when this happened, I never knew why it happened. It left an impression on me. I simply made the comment that my grandmother told me about it when we walked by the building. Then, I asked about googling, not about this incident, but googling about anything.
What I meant by decent talk is, nobody is being mean spirited, not until you started.
If you don't like what is being discussed, go to another one that suits your taste!

It just has nothing to do with current events. Granted, Topix is a forum where you can post any dumbass thought that pops in your head but this was a little out there.
