You have no idea what I look like! I used to get compliments on a weekly basis on how gorgeous and long my hair was. She knew what I wanted done and did something completely different of what I asked. How would you feel if you wanted a trim and your hairdresser shaved your head or dyed your hair orange? My advice to the orignal poster is try the place out but I dont recommend that particular stylist because she does not know how to please or listen to the client!
You must be easy to manipulate. Hmmmmmmmm

I have always hated boards like this. I own Cha Cha's. Folks can just trash the hell out of a place without having to stand behind their words. This salon has only been open for about a year. They are busting it to bring their own style to Lexington. I remember when I opened my own shop five years ago. Forums like this raked us over the coals. Local stylists made up fake reviews and we were beat up without any way of responding. We are hair stylists. We do the best we can. If we could make everyone happy we would. We can't. I have looked in the window of this shop and it looks super cool. After a quick glance at their Facebook page they seem to be trying their damnedest to bring a different vision in salons to Lexington. I know what that feels like.
I found this post via a google search for my shop. Embarrassed I am even here. Thank you for the kind words, but we have to give these guys a high five for bringing their ideas to the table. My industry is full of cut-throat, back stabbing, industry-killing venom. I hope everyone finds a hairdresser that makes them happy. Hell, I hope it's my shop. If you didn't like what we did, I hope you wouldn't demolish us on a forum like this. Love. Peace. And hair grease.

Thank you so much for being a gentleman, Jason. Evidently having integrity around here is rare. It really means a lot to see someone in our industry shoot down some back-stabbing. Talented stylists don't have to resort to tearing others down as their work speaks for itself and keeps their clients happy.

I just happened across this thread after googling "Fleet Street Lexington" to see what our updated website looks like in a google search and am intrigued by all of these bogus posts. As the owner of Fleet Street Hair Shoppe, I have access to customer names and previous appointments in our database-- and I have every reason to want to make sure our customers are satisfied beyond sites like this-- but these claims just don't match up. I don't have it in me to refute every clearly invalid post here, but the "bikini wax on Valentine's Day" is a no-brainer considering anything other than a facial wax isn't even on our menu. As for someone unexpectedly having several feet cut off their hair or anything else of that sort of nature, it seems highly unlikely that anyone would have such an experience without making a scene before leaving the salon. And Manic Panic? We don't and never have carried the stuff.

If anyone here actually does have a legitimate complaint or concern, please feel free to contact me at fleetstreetlex@gmail.com and I will do what I can to resolve it. Bringing an issue to the attention of a manager/owner can lead to having that issue taken care of and if there really are dissatisfied customers out there, I would like the opportunity to make it right. Thank you.

Most good salons wont charge you if u are unhappy with a service.Salons need constant training if they wish to stay on top. Also u can have a great personality and do marginal work and have plenty of clients. You can make millions if you know 5 haircuts and execute them well. And u must know COLOR or u are f*cked.Thats where the money is.Overcutting is a major problem- better to undercut you can always cut more hair later.

I don't understand any of these negative posts. I have had 4 different stylists cut my hair and came away happy each time. Primarily the owner Candace and now with Cody, but others have filled in and given me a good cut each time. My fiancee also gets his cut here and is as happy as I am. They actually LISTEN to what I want done with my hair. I have a pixie, and it is difficult to do a good pixie cut. If someone doesn't know what they are doing, you have no hair to work with to make it look better. I have not had a bad cut here at all. The stylists are competent and very nice. The atmosphere is fun and funky. The product line is good. I have gotten my hair cut all over Lexington and this is the first place to LISTEN to my words. They don't have me leaving the salon looking like Kate Gosselin, which all other Lexington salons seem to want for me. No thanks! I'm sticking with Fleet Street.

I have been to Fleet Street twice. Both times I had a great experience with cut and color. My stylist was Shelby and she listened to me, and didn't cut off more than I asked. I've lived in lexington my whole life and felt safe in that neighborhood, even though I've always lived on the south end. I think this place is great. I found the place comfortable and the other staff members to be very professional as well.

I've been here a few times, but I will only let Whitney touch my hair. I have very thick hair that can be unmanageable and whitney does a fabulous job giving me trendy cuts that frame my wide face. She is wonderful and is an absolute sweetheart. I've been going to her since she moved from Nicholasville.

So basically the owner is jealous that whitney is better and has more clients? That's what I figured!

I have walked past this salon 4 times now as I walked to North Lime & Donuts. So, first to the neighborhood - I have had no problems. Walked all the way to North Lime from Main & Mill and back multiple times with no problems, issues, scares, or concerns.
Now, the salon. I get my hair cut once a year and have tried multiple salons. It's never been butchered, but no one has ever listened to me when I tell them what my hair is like and what I am willing to do in styling a cut. The last time I had my hair cut, I took pictures and it still didn't come out the way I wanted and was really expensive. So, because I also hate social situations, I tend to take long breaks between hair cuts before I am willing to try again.
This time, I decided to try Fleet Street and took my daughter whose hair is very different from mine. Anna cut my hair exactly the way I wanted and exactly the way my daughter wanted. She didn't even need the pictures I had. She was fast & friendly and the cut and style for both uf us was only about 2/3 what I had paid before. For the first time, I am willing to go back to a salon and stylist and will do so much more regularly than once a year.
