Any updates? I'm considering moving my family to Lexington in 2013; I'm especially concerned with friendliness and a small town atmosphere. I've been in Miami for wayyyy too long and I'm looking for Space (nice yard to grow some veggies), neighborly attitudes (just wave hi for god's sake!), and a sense of community. I'd like some acreage which seems possible and a short commute to downtown. Am I asking for too much?

The weather seems nice on paper. Would appreciate your thoughts and TIA.
Try lawrenceburg ky. Its close to Lex. No traffic and alot more house and land for the money.

Lexington looks like a good place on paper, but I am assuming any place looks good compared to where I live in Mississippi.

I am a Christian, husband, father, preacher, oilfield worker, college student. Looking to re-locate my family and am interested to see if anybody would perhaps offer any advice on Lexington. The schools look good, at least compared to Mississippi. Would like to see anybody's thoughts on the matter.

You wont find many places better to live than Lexington. I've been all up and down the east coast, and I may be bias, but I'd take Lexington over them all. If you like nature, check out Raven Run, they have a lot of hiking trails, river overlook etc... Plus if you travel outside of Lexington, your outdoor activities are endless.

After leaving KY 36 years ago, I'm back, living in Lexington. I have dreamed about this day for years. The only thing that concerns me is... "I may not be able to afford the HIGH TAXES." Everything seems to be taxed.

Folks, what we are witnessing here is the culmination of years of inbreeding and home schooling.

Hello,
My husband and I live in SNOW country in Pennsylvania and are thinking of relocating. On paper, Lexington is one of our 4 choices (we have not yet visited). Am looking for some information from residents. We are in our early 50's, middle income, love to golf, shop, eat out, enjoy nature, etc. Why do YOU think Lexington would be a good choice for us? Are the suburban neighborhoods safe and affordable? Are the people friendly to newcomers? We would be most interested in a golf community, probably a patio home priced under $200,000. Is there such a neighborhood there? Thank you so much for your help!
Move to Georgetown they have 3 golf course communities Longview, Canewood and Cherry Blossom. Ellen Smith Davenport can find you a house in that price range. five zero two eight six three one seven three three

Unless you enjoy driving in your car for 45 minutes to go 5 miles everyday. Unless you like bad gold courses that are super over priced. Unless you like bad food. Then by all means come on down to good ol KY... Its a dump
