Entitlement programs in the long run, are no help to anyone. just keeps people dependant on government rather than getting off their duff, taking responsibilty and improving themselves. If they are used in the way they are intended (short term) then possibly okay but there are so many that don't have the fortitude to do anything for themselves. The government is not your "baby daddy". In this day and time, not a politically correct thing to write but the truth anyway.

Put these people out to work, and let the government find jobs for the jobless!! If they need assistance, let them rely on COMMODITIES!!! Instead of giving them a card to swipe at the grocery check-out, and believe me they eat high on the hog!!!! These people on the draw need to be given Cheese, Dry milk, and eggs, Dried beans, peas and powdered milk canned luncheon meat and peanut butter!!! when they get tired of that, they will find work!!!The government has spoiled the lazy people and then wonder why we have so many obese people...I understand there are people out there that need help and commodities are very nutritious They don't need all those potato chips and sugar-filled snacks and soft drinks!

absolutely correct. commodities are the way to go. take away the cell phones and for many take away the medical card. disabled people and elderly should be taken care of but let others do something besides sit in their house, eat and smoke or ?

Yeah, cheese and peanut butter is very nutritious for you!!....and these people on the stamp cards are eating better than most that work and pay the green at the check-out counter...you can usually tell the ones with their carts all loaded down with the junk food, they eating high on the hog and carry a wide load!! No wonder to me that so many people are obese. The government should give these people garden seed and put them out to grow a few veggies, then that would solve the obesity problem that we have today!

I think we should expand government assistance. Any assistance programs should provide cigarettes and condoms, along with food and medical aide. Why be reactive, when we can be proactive?

The Health Department gives them free condoms now, they wan't use them, maybe they should give cigarettes instead.

They want people dependent on assistance programs. Then when they cut the programs and riots begin, a police state will be enacted. Socialism at it's best. As we all celebrate the "independence" of our nation this week, please educate yourselves. America is still in debt from the revolutionary war. Laugh all you will at conspiracy theorist. The time will come when you will regret having doubt.
