I am 51 yrs old and am just now becoming comfortable enough to accept that I am gay and to disclose it to others. To be treated in the manner in which you have been treated and to remain strong in your convictions gives me the strength to stand up and say I am gay and I deserve the same rights as everyone else.
My Thanks.

If you haven't seen "The Times of Harvey Milk" I urge you to get it and watch. I'm "the boy from Altoona Pennsylvania".

The night I saw that Harvey was elected I called him. We spoke over an hour. I asked him if he ever wanted to talk about what we discussed if he would say I was from Altoona.

I was calling from Wilmington Delaware. He asked why he shouldn't say I was from Wilmington. I told him I was born in Ohio and once when I visited and told my old friends I was living in Delaware they thought I had moved downstate (There is a Delaware Ohio south of where I was born).

More people know Altoona PA than they do Wilm DE. So we agreed that whenever he talked about me he'd say I was from Altoona. That way some gay child somewhere would know they were not alone.

As Harvey once said, "I have never been a candidate. I've been part of a candidacy".

That is what scares the crap out of the homophobes. Our candidacy. They see their power and control over others dying.

And please remember what Eleanor Roosevelt once said. No one can disrespect you without your permission.

It isn't wrong to be who you are just because you don't agree and you think its wrong doesn't make it so. And yes dignity and class because to go through what this man did and to remain true to who he is gives him much more dignity and class than someone who is pointing fingers.

its not the homosexual agenda that gets us upset, its the progressive agenda as a whole. im sure you will keep corn holing it as an act against you personally.
progressivism can not exist without victims, its sad really.
every member of the progressive movement is a victim of some sort.

no I think it is the homosexuals agenda that gets you upset, you don't speak of Womens rights, Native Americans, or Blacks that way. And its progressive because society is meant to advance not live in the Stone Age. By what did you mean by corn holing anyway if not to be derogatory, BTW everybody is a victim of something.

Yet I don't see you passing laws banning adulterers from being able to marry.

Deviant Behavior?

Yet I see no national effort to ban people with OCD from marrying.

You are trying to make religious discrimination look good.

What a load of crap.

You create victimhood for yourself and blame it on my progressivism rather than your religious fascism.

Should you not realize it, Christ is the only sinless person who has lived and none will follow Him. None of us are perfect. You just don't have a clue about the lowdown.

Recognizing the need for equal civil rights is an important standard for the scouts to teach. I can agree that the boys need to be protected from predators, but the fact is that gays are actually FAR less likely to be child moletors than straights are.

We all are sinners in the eyes of God. The Bible gives us a blueprint to live our life by. Homosexuality is against the Bible. It is a sin. Just like adultery is a sin. No one is completely perfect. We are supposed to live as close to His Word as possible and by giving into lustful wills like homosexuality you won't get into heaven. Better to be celibate than to risk eternity. No earthly pleasure is worth what is in store in heaven.
Wrong. Homosexuality is NOT a sin, there is no verse in the Bible that accurately translates to say that it is. In fact, the Bible CELEBRATES the same sex marriage of David and Johnathan in 1 Samuel.

Now, if you want to talk about the sins of adultry or promiscuity, then you might have a point...

Speak for yourself. I am without sin. Sin is failing to obey those Laws and Commandments in the Torah that apply to the individual. I would like to think that it would be obvious that the commandments concerning the period of uncleanliness after menustration don't apply to men, laws concerning the behavior of the priesthood don't apply to anyone not a priest of the God of the Bible, the laws concerning animal sacrifice must wait for the Messiah and the rebuilding of the Temple, etc, etc, etc. Sadly, I know that most of the readers are xians who are PROFOUNDLY IGNORANT of what the Bible actually says...)

Yes they are! If someone wants to know what a book means, why not talk to the people that wrote it?

Steady up there DNF. The 'cracker' has got you rattled and you are starting to show your true colors.

Are you really who you say you are or are you claiming to be something you're not, but would like to be?
