Oh for gods sake why don't everyone enjoy a nice chilled glass of wine and pray in your own dwelling. you can save your monies and enjoy your freedom from religious organizations that want your funds. a good way to get rich in this country.

Ron Callahan used to be pastor of First Assembly of God on Clays Mill Road before he got booted out by the church members for being manipulative and money-obsessed. He took a core group of loyalists with him and started another church.(Not sure if that was Grace Fellowship or if there was a church between First Assembly and GF.) I think that was in the late 1980s. Anyone else remember this?
You all are ignorant of the Word of God!! If you would study the Word you would see what we teach is biblical! I bet you are living in sin and filled with all manor of evil. It's obvious the love of God is not flowing through you. You religious hypocrites! Shame on you!!!

Oh, by the way, there is one witness to Derber choking me. He was as shocked and freaked out as I was. We both looked at each other after it happened with a look of bewilderment, I mean after all, I was gasping for air because I could't breathe. But he is ultra devoted to Derber and would never, and I mean never, do anything that would shed light on who this man really is and what he is capable of. His goal is to control, I could not see it at first but it became all to obvious to me as time went on. This was the ultimate reason, I figured out, for the choking. He wanted to test my level of devotion to him. Call it what you want, but that is what is was. It wouldn't happen today though, there would be a completely different outcome:) I am just glad to be free and am able to have at least a little cash in my pocket instead of being pressured to put it into his pocket. ready for comments:)

So can you tell me why the church still preaches out of a dumpy church building and has a dumpy church bus? I'm pretty sure ya'll have been believing for God to provide the money for a new building for YEARS. But the pastors continue to be able to get big nice escalades and motorcycles and big new houses, but no money to invest into a new building or a church bus? Something doesn't add up.

Of course we're all evil...because we don't go to Grace Fellowship, right? and we're probably going straight to hell, right? You all think grace fellowship is the only GOOD church in the world. That must be why there is only like 200 members and it keeps getting smaller. People are learning the truth about the shady stuff that goes on there...

You bet we are all living in sin and filled with all manor of evil??? See, this is exactly the kind of arrogance and spiritual piety that these people operate in! You must be evil because you do not live your lives the same way they do. When you begin to question things in the church that start to trouble your spirit, you are then ostracized and or shunned. There couldn't possibly be any other interpretation of The Word besides theirs/the leaderships. Everyone else is either a "baby in The Lord" or a "spiritual teenager" that thinks they "know it all like most other teenagers do" (how many times did I hear that one when we attended there?!) You are not trusted to read The Word and get your own revelation from The Holy Spirit and hear what YOUR Father has to say to YOU. When "David" posted, "If you would study the Word you would see what we teach is biblical", what he meant was, only if it "lines up" with what the "leadership" is preaching. "Obviously the love of God is not flowing through you.", Huh?? I think you need to look in the mirror (The Word) and asked that question again bud!

Ever wonder why Callahan/Derber Refuse to reveal anything about the church finances to anyone ? Why are they HIDING the church financial records of how tithes and offerings are being spent ? Why are they bound by FEAR of letting church members know what they do with the money ?
Reading the books "Churches that Abuse" and "Recovering from Churches that Abuse" by Ronald Enroth will reveal to you a lot about these Authoritarian spiritual leaders.

It's funny that people come to try and defend grace fellowship but won't ever explain the shady business that goes on w/the money there.

I've seen this church first hand when I attended with my ex-girlfriends family back in 2006/2007. I grew up Presbyterian so this church was very different from what I was used to. I wanted to give it a chance so I attended for a few months. I realized how small the church was and how the members didn't really grow at all (my ex-girlfriends family grew up in that church.) I also heard that there was a lot of judgement from the church towards my ex-girlfriends family for missing church and being absent at times. Really bad things. One sunday we were at church and one of the associate pastors or visiting pastors was talking about money (big surprise) and he said that they hadn't met their financial goal for something they were raising money for so the pastor said "Before we move on, lets go ahead and take care of that, who will donate?" and literally stood there on stage waiting for people to give him money. After a few moments a couple people stepped up and gave him money, to which he stashed in his right pocket and said "Good! Now that has been taken care of, we can get on with the show." I was absolutely in shock as to how this church lacked in accountability with finances. No deacons or elders. Nothing.

I told my ex-girlfriend I wouldn't go back and started attending another church. To this day, from the people I know that still attend -- the church has not grown and even the youth pastor of many years stepped down because she didn't feel like what she was doing in that church was right.

Stay far away from that church, and if any members of Grace Fellowship try to get on here and tell you that you are not full of love or are sinners, shrug it off. Notice how they only come here to condemn and give no answers. Ask them where the money is going and they cannot answer you. They are in the dark. I pray they wake up, like many of us have.

Do you know its the truth about that church, or the other ones in Lexington that he seems to have a problem with?
He seems to have a problem with any religious organization. Maybe because they told him to leave because he was a trouble maker. Maybe he molested a child. He does have a tendency to be a sexual deviant.
Or... Maybe you think that its OK to be a homo, and to be around children too.

I was there at the split and the beginning of grace also.Despite many of my family member telling me to get out,I stayed for a long time.I had years of blaming the pastor for my problems, but realized they were rooted way back in the church world.Although I will never go to church again.I do think the pastor is a great bible teacher and learned a lot.I did have lots of questions about the finances and saw many red flags that should have opened my eyes.I still don't know if I would classify grace as a cult, but I think that since first assembly and grace were my first real church, I may still have a heart for them.Call me whipped I guess.I have seen most of what has been said in this post first hand.

I can't tell if you're trying to be serious or funny but it's actually quite comical. You sound just like most of the members at Grace Fellowship. Someone leaves the church and there is automatically something wrong with that person. A church is supposed to be a place of love and acceptance, a hospital for the broken. Grace Fellowship SURE isn't that. They want you out of there if you don't feed the pastors all your money and suck up to fit in. So sorry you don't see the truth yet.

Yeah, that's the funny/shady business. They won't disclose any information about where they are spending the money. If you don't have anything to hide, why not share it? Every church i've ever been to or heard about OPENLY discuss their finances and let anyone see the records who ask. Grace gets money from the church members but it goes straight to the pastors pockets for nice cars and big houses but they've been believing for money for a new church location for over 15years or more and money for a new church bus. Can't pay for that, but can buy big nice escalades and motorcycles? Pretty freaking pathetic.

People, in the spirit of integrity, accountability, and objectivity - can we at least use our real names when making accusations? This might help us speak rationally instead of emotionally when we remove our anonymity.

I have been a part of Grace Fellowship of Frankfort for 19 years now and from my observation, the leadership of this fellowship operate in integrity with a heart for God first. In times of doubt or disagreement, I have never been inclined to question the heart of those in charge.

But if you disagree and feel you need to move on, do so. Don't let hurt or offense fester in your heart though. Like an ex, to move on you have to forgive and heal and stop giving so much attention to that relationship that is over and dead.

I am sorry that anyone has been hurt when being a part of this church fellowship, but such is the nature of dealing with people. Regardless, don't let offense destroy your life.

Jonathan, it would be a little easier to use real names if Grace members weren't on here throwing around false allegations about people being homosexual and such. Who knows what else would be made up about former members if people used their real names.

Jonathan, making accusations?? Well, I don't know about the others posting on here, but my "accusations" are fact. I have posted on here my experiences because I want to help people who might be looking into attending any of the Grace churches. I might add that I have successfully diverted a couple of people too, thank GOD! You say you have never been inclined to question the heart of those in charge? Well, if you ever do, you will quickly find out that you will be shunned or avoided, dropped like a hot rock as it were. My family knows this all too well because we asked for the church's expenditure report to see what the seeds we had been sowing were being spent on. We just wanted to know what we had a part in, but NO! We were quickly shot down, we were told that was information that we didn't need know. We were told point blank (by Fantly) that he wasn't going to give us that information. Why not?! we had been faithful members, consistent and faithful sowers and tithers for years, what was the big deal? We were viewed as "questioning leadership". Almost as soon as we asked the question came the cold shoulders from "leadership", I'm glad though, my family has never been more free since we left and The Holy Spirit has taught us so much about what was going on in there! I just want to help others not have to go through what we went through in there. I feel so sad for the people that went so far as to give up their spouse just to remain in the flock of Grace, to remain in the place that GOD supposedly lead them to. It seems kind of strange to me that if GOD brought a family there, that it would eventually tear them apart. Happens all to often in there, very heartbreaking indeed!
