I have never been to the church. I know someone who did several years ago and he finally quit. Strange teaching. Also constantly speaking of money and saying money cometh.

Ron Callahan used to be pastor of First Assembly of God on Clays Mill Road before he got booted out by the church members for being manipulative and money-obsessed. He took a core group of loyalists with him and started another church.(Not sure if that was Grace Fellowship or if there was a church between First Assembly and GF.) I think that was in the late 1980s. Anyone else remember this?

I've been to a few of their services. The church's members are the most positive and genuine folks I've ever met. Really great people. I like the pastors too. I'd might actually attend there if I felt comfortable with the prosperity theory of christianity.

All of the Grace Fellowship churches are cults, subserviant to the man at the top of the financial pyramid, self appointed "Apostle" Ron Callahan, who reigns over all, accountable to NO ONE. This is a spiritual slavery ring, with all the "pastors" of the sub cults being required to funnel 10% of their financial take (from their own slaves' contrubutions) up to Callahan, How else can a man who has no job afford a $70,000 Escalade, plus two other luxury cars, and a massive country estate -- when he only has about 60 adult slave/tithers in his own dwindling congregation?(I should note that they also fleece the kids as well -- make them tithe in their indoctrination "youth church" classes). It is true that Callahan split a church wide open and walked away with 400 members in 1992 -- those 400 people were hearing from God then, but now of course it is constantly taught that if you leave his church to go to another church you are being decieved by Satan.(There are only about 10 of those original 400 members still in the cult -- not counting his family members -- and most of those remaining original members have been appointed as pastors of sub cults). As for Callahan's teaching (paroted verbatum by the beholdent sub-cult pastors) it is totally manipulative and repetative -- hasn't changed in years -- and brings forth no fruit for anyone but Callahan, his family and the other loyal members of the ruling class, who purchase their homes and goods and feed and cloth their families off the earnings of the slave class. Everything is basically designed to get you to place Callahan's prosperity and well being above yourself and your family -- spouses, children parents, etc. By distorting teachings about the old testament priesthood as they apply to the new testamant church, it is taught that it is the people's resonsibility to make the "man of God" rich. It is also preached that it is sin to disagree with leadership or question them. You are taught that if you don't fork your money over you are cursed. It's even been said that those who don't tithe are going to hell. Using fear and manipulation to get money is totally contrary to scripture --"Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." (2Cor 9:7) There are several week long meetings and "financial conferences" each year where people have the same message beat into them continually -- that the only way to wealth is to give to the "man of God" -- yet those who give the most are the ones who end up with the least money! No accounting for money taken in is ever given. Control is excerted continually through perversions of scripture. It is taught that if a man wants to leave the church he is listening to the devil and the wife should divorce him rather than follow him. It is taught that if you want to leave the church even when leaving the region for another job you may do so only with the pastor's permission first. It is taught that having a relationship with Jesus is not enough -- you need the "covering" if a "man of God" over your life -- and you are then under his "authority". The list goes on. DO NOT BE DECIEVED. Run from this place, unless you want your marriage/family relations destroyed, your children alienated and confused, and your bank account emptied.

great comments here! yes I know firsthand the cult like teaching of grace fellowship! I was at the Frankfort Church and in comparison to Philip Derber Callahan is a choir boy! Derber taught the Holy Ghost is a woman! Birth control is like abortion! You have to give money to the man of God before he preaches!!!
Listen I am a Word of faith Christian! I found some wonderful truths in Bro Kenneth E Hagin's teachings. Let me say strongly the faith and prosperity that grace teach is 180 degrees different than what Bro Hagin taught!I wasted 7 years at that church it just kept getting worse and worse! Yes they taught if the pastor tells you to do something then its God telling you! Now they had a youth pastor at Lexington that took over in 2000. She is my covenant friend. We went to Bible school together. She has totally rejected this cult and left it 2010! Grace fellowship or goofy fellowship is a cult! Post this all over Lexington and Frankfort please!!!! Go to Google and look the church up and write a review as to how cult it is! Let people know!!!!

At my friend's urging I went to this church,Ron Callahan ,was the pastor that evening. His sermon that evening was all about the sinner,& how the sinner wasn't walking with God.And how bad the sinner was & on & on he went. Then he started talking about Grace Fellowship & about how righteous they were.Sort of like a compare & contrast Grace Fellowship vs. the sinner.Well this is not a part of my belief system as I believe everybody sins everyday & that Jesus was the only perfect one & through him and his blood can we take our sins to God to be forgiven.Praise God For That Jesus & His Blood!!!

I cannot begin to tell you the bad memories I had while attending Grace Fellowhip Christian Academy for my sophomore year back in '92-'93. I do not remember if this Callahan was a pastor then, though that sounds very familiar, but the curriculum was very strange, biased and cultish. In one class, I was even told that I was sinning for not believing in the 'preachings' of Robert Tilton, the tele-evengelist. One Wednesday morning while in 'chapel', they performed an 'exorcisism' on a friend of mine which turned out very violent. One of the pastors got his nose broken that day and my friend was held down and restrained with force by 3 grown men in the hallway. It was truly traumatizing. I am 34 now, and still do not trust most religious organizations. I believe in God, I just want to learn about Him myself rather than have someone 'teach' Him to me. I haven't been back to church since just because of this. When I returned to Henry Clay the next year for my junior year, I was told that Grace Fellowship Christian Academy wasn't even an accredited school. I had to retake many classes just to continue as a junior. My mother has never told me how many thousands of dollars they took from her that year, as my little brother also went to school there that year.
