I'm in desperate need of another job (current one is very part-time). What shifts are available at Amazon? Is it horrible? Worth the money?

Most people hate amazon because they actually make you work for the money. I worked there for 6 years while I was going through college, and I enjoyed it most of the time (holidays were hell, but they are at most jobs) most positions are 10 hour shifts 4 days a week.

Don't take picking and prepare to work. Picking is walking and going up stairs around 10 miles a shift. Bottom floor is concrete and will kill your feet. The rest of the work there seemed easy.

I was a picker and was constantly tops in productivity during the night. Watched 3 lazy asses get hired on before me and stopped going in. They hire full time based on your job history.

Yeah, that's what I was. A picker. The stuff people order is embarrassing. Who uses a big purple shlong big around as a pop can?!

For the politicians in Frankfort to take credit for bringing in jobs to the state when amazon came is a joke. The only people it benefits are people who come in from out of state, such as area managers. The rest would be far better off not wasting there time at this sh*thole, and looking elsewhere.

Stay far away from that place. They treat people so badly and are a disgrace to "equal opportunity", whatever that means. It has gotten so easy for companies to rape the consumer for profit. As long as people give up their principles and work for places like Amazon, there will be no hope for America. Try making some sacrifices for the sake of improving our world.

I work at the Amazon FC in Dunfermline, Scotland and i have to say it is HORRIBLE. Stupidly high targets, roasting heat, mandatory overtime, favourtism, short breaks, no job security, overzealous security ect ect

No one is forcing anyone to work there. If you don't like the job, then leave. Seems pretty simple to me. There's always places that are hiring but good luck getting away with all the crap amazon lets you get away with...

if you want to work at the one in lexington, if at all possible don't do picking. one season i did picking and quit after a week, three years later i went back as a shipping clerk and finished out peak season. It might just be i was more mature but i really think picking just sucks.

Bc u were a lazy ass bum. Afraid of a little actual physical work. People at most jobs these days wouldn't even cut it at a real job. They think lifting few boxes a day is a physical job

lol yeah ok, before i took the picking job i worked construction out of state as a laborer And now im doing 50 plus hour week and loving it so dont give me that shit. That was probably the second lamest job ive worked, they dont give a shit about any of the temp employs. shipping clerk was alright but im not into walking around pushing a tote scanning random shit all shift. Where do you work anyways buddy? I guarentee my job now is better then what youre doing for a living.

to the original poster, try to be a shipping clerk. honestly if youre looking to go through a staffing agency just go to kelly services. If you go to integrity/amazon youll have a job for about 2 months and then they dont need you so youre gone.
