For your years as DA, never lost a child sexual assault case either in court or on appeal.

Do you mean the few that he had in all those years since most of his cases ended up in Plea deals? Maybe you should be thanking the people on Jury Duty, not Steve Snook.

If Steve Snook opens a law office specializing in criminal defense, his phone will ring off the hook ! He knows how the system works. Sleep tight Dave ...

And yes Mifflin County absolutely deserves Dave Molek, the people have spoken, we got what we want and are very, very happy about it. The voters are tired of the "Good ole boy" network!

"Sad day Jan 1st", Where did we hear that before? Was it just a year ago? The LPD is now well underway once again. They may soon need a bigger parking lot to hold all the patrol cars.

Yeah, how stupid to spend all that money on vehicles for a two square mile patrol area that only has two/ three officers working at one time. Yep spend spend spend the tax payers money for no reason. You sound just like one of the morons on the board.

Mr Molek will have his hands full with the under educated police department. I wish him the best (seriously) and I sure hope he helps LPD learn the law as Snook was doing. Only a hand full of drug arrest by a drug officer in 2011 that is sad when there used to be 20-30 times that before LPD took over. Be real people, get your head out of the sand and look around. Lewsitown is not any better than it was, its worse and the dopers know it.

As far as the people of Mifflin county speaking goes, I believe only 28% of registered voters turned out and what was the out come? a mere 800 something split. do the math. I believe you'll find with a voter turn out of 28% Mifflin county really didn't care who got the position, fact!!!

I think Judge Betty was reminding those people that was saying LPD only had one vehicle and it was a wreck with 150,000 miles on it.

Remember that Dave Molek went from being a Write-in Candidate to winning the election in just a very short time. That says there was a lot of opposition to Steve Snook and he didn't recognize it. He assumed his 18 yrs would carry him and the people he was counting on left him down..

I'm not a fan of Steve Snook, but the way he was ousted is wrong. I question the propriety of two Republicans running for DA in the Fall general election (one masquerading as a Democrat). Molek should, and does, know better.

It is also troubling how this whole Molek business came to a head only after DA Snook went after a couple of ne'erdowells. Snook displayed poor judgement hanging out in a dive like the Hammmermill. He's a sitting District Attorney and needs to conduct himself as such.

The message the election of Dave Molek to the office of District Attorney sends is the majority of Mifflin County voters who bothered to go to the polls this past fall tolerate lawbreaking and the appearance of impropriety on the part of certain individuals. Not only is this wrong but it makes us look like a bunch of hoodlums.

The Commonwealth has the major share of blame for this debacle. Top law enforcement officers should never be elected positions, lest they become politicized, as we have seen. Top law enforcement officers should be appointees of professional boards with supervisory responsibility for the appointee's conduct. We have a lot of trouble in PA with elected Attorney Generals, elected county District Attorneys, and elected District Magistrates. Need I say more?

I wish Molek and Mifflin County well but fear the area will return to a greater incidence of court sanctioned lawbreaking as was the case in the 1970's and 1980's. Molek hasn't take office yet but he's not starting from a very good place, and neither is the county.

Your 2cents was just that, a drop in the bucket when the people have a chance to speak with their vote. They got tired of Plea Agreement and crimminals walking free. And by the way, the voters are not done yet cleaning out the justice system.

Rumor has Steve Snook joining a local law firm and will specialize in criminal defense cases. He was a great one in the past and will be again !

I thought he was already working on the defense side for criminals since most of his cases as a prosecutor ended in Plea agreements allowing them to walk free,so he will do fine on his new rumored job.
