Greenbrier Deputy Sheriff Being Investigated

LEWISBURG -- A Greenbrier County Sheriff's Deputy is the focus of an internal investigation, according to Sheriff Jim Childers.
In a news release, Childers says Cpl. R.A., Adam Martin is being placed on administrative leave.

John Teare, an attorney representing the Sheriff's Office, says there are very few details that can be released at this time because right now, it's a personnel issue and confidentiality constraints are in place. He adds that facts and issues in the investigation into Corporal Martin are still developing, but Teare does say that Martin is on leave "with" pay.

He is being investigated for filing a letter of complaint about a drunk phone call in the middle of the night from childers.
The are saying that he had to complain to sgt, chief, sheriff, county commission.
its just a violation of policy. he joins baker, beneett, and mcferrin who have all been on leave..lol

I totally disagree. He did a wonderful job for our family. My small child was severely abused. Thank you Adam, good luck.

sometimes they conveniently lose certain items for money or the ole "you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours later". It's not surprising to me either anymore this crap happens enough in this area to warrant higher power in government to step in and have a look.

I will bet, some honest person(s) have something to say that they, or their family, has had something done to them that was wrong...But, who do you tell? Could be the Sheriff has bit off more than he can chew, This letter will have to be released & revealed. under the FOIA act personnel actions will not exempt this one. Can't wait to read the Deputy's letter of complaint about action's of his leader.

I have known Adam for awhile. He has always been respectful to all around. You "trouble makers" are always blowing everything out of proportion. Why take a good man and ruin a good thing. He "IS" protecting our children, you know. No one is perfect and can do everything "YOU" want him to do. Just remember, he is on administrative leave, WITH pay.....Now Childress, that is who this is really about and should be on leave "without" pay! I have always thought he was crooked from the start. We really can't trust anyone, anymore. No one follows the book..........

The above is a small reason why deputies are complaining. They are tired of receiving these types ofemails from our sheriff. Ya think he was drunk when it was sent? It was sent out to all deputies

We the people pay these peoples salary. They are OUR employess. Whether a cop, a judge, or some organization receiving OUR money through taxes. Their actions are a concern to US. And they are under the microscope.
