I understand, but if I was challenging someone to write for a publication I would make sure the spelling was correct before I hit the "send" button. Spell Check makes it almost fool proof. It even makes a keyboard genius look good.

Mountain Messenger paper and staff are great.

No online paper

One of the first lessons in creative writing is to get your thoughts down without concern over whether the spelling and punctuation are "just so" because what is important is the inspiration that drives you to want to write in the first place.
I don't proof my topix posts too heavily, or else the errors others type UP ONE SIDE AND DOWN THE OTHER might bug me. SO, SO FUNNY!!! Laugh with me! You know it's funny!
Now, since a and s are side-by-side on the keyboard I will let you in on a secret- TYPO!
That's all, just a typo.

If you are required to pay for a mailed subscription to a newspaper, what would be the point of said newspaper putting the paper online for free? Whether you pay to read it on your computer or you pay to receive it on your doorstep, it's a subscription. Same thing, different format. This is not uncommon for newspapers to do. What papers are you lot reading for free online? Topix does not qualify. Also, what's wrong with hippies? We are talking about Lewisburg, aren't we?

Showell is a freak of nature. He is stuck in a time capsule in the 60's he cares only about Monet has no respect for his employees or his readers. He is clearly over medicating. He runs more than 1 paper..a small one just as a tax write off...he isn't honest and tells advertisers his numbers are larger than they are. They pay for say 24000 ads to be put inside the paper, but they use only 2000 the rest are trashed and he pockets the cash. He's just another greedy, selfish a hole.

ALL three local yokel papers, WV Daily Disappointment, Valley Nothing, and Mountain Messenger of nothing SUCK! All three have horrible typos and incorrect information, and my suspicion is that whoever is in charge gets kickbacks from a certain Lewisburgian fat mofo who has more money than brain cells NOT to print any negative things about him. What people should do is just drop subscriptions to papers here and wait for a REAL paper. One with REAL news not just what JJ & Lewisburg Snobs want you to know!

Michael Showell is a freak...He rips people off by claiming he has bigger readership than he does. say he charges for advertisers to put flyers in 2000 papers, but only has a real circulation of 1200 and he pockets the rest and recycles the leftover papers. He is a thief and a freak...just ask that poor dog he used to hump....

Imagination is more important than knowledge, said Mr. Einstein.
I'm not a writer by profession, that's why I know anyone with perspective and good verbage can write if they want to, even for publication. Editors do give advice and catch things that could be better written.
My magazine editor says they will take anything I give them for publication now. That's why it is no longer a challenge, and I haven't done it in years.
I have recently thought of producing for our local publications, but something really different, so different it could go regional or even national.
Does anyone else have original ideas that are worth working up for the papers? Surely I can't be the only one.
Did you mean verbiage ?????

Sounds like "paperstinks" is the true thief, the freak, and someone that has zero character.
