<quoted text> Underprivledged is such a condescending word. Why don't you try a warrior trying to pay his/her way along with the help of community through scholarshiping "FINANCIALLY CHALLENGED" families. That word at least gives people hope to keep climbing out of a place most actually don't want to be "poor". Carnegie's scholarships, I will say again are a joke and this one woman behind her front desk treated me like trash when I even asked to apply for a scholarship for my child. My mother and father are financially wealthy and I am trying to build up finances for my child and I. I am NOT poor but have few financial assessts trying really hard to make a way for us to live and meet needs. I did not need this lady behind that desk to talk to me in her deregatory tone nor her condescending ways because if she wants my ego to come out, I could choose to live off of my parents and make more than that nasty spirited woman at Carnegie does in one bank account withdrawl. I choose to be independent and work as hard as I can to provide for self/child. Shame on that Carnegie worker for treating me like trash when I asked about a scholarship upon relocating here (to what is one of our vacation homes) to raise my child...One Love to all with respect for everyone and not "poor" people. Shame on you too for writing that! K
Call and ask to speak with someone other than the person who answers the phone. I am sure she is not speaking for everyone there with her rude behavior and the management there would like to know about it.

If you are trying to be "independent" then you would not be trolling for a scholarship. You would pay cash or take out a loan and leave the scholarships for people with talent who have no means of self-financing.

I believe they should destroy this building. Only the privileged children get to perform there. It ha no use to 90% of the public. Plus Andrew Carnegie was a womanizer and racist.
This is one of the studpidest comments I have had the misfortune to read. You sir, are a moron, and a liar.

What school groups are the privledged ones? Which ones were turned down? THe answer ot both questions is none. Zero. Carnegie Hall serves kids in EVERY elementary scholl in Gbr. County, and some from Monroe and Pocahontas.

<quoted text>I don't have a dog in tis fight. However you cannot deny the fact that certain schools perform there than others. I think that is what Sam was trying to say. Yes anyone can rent out the hall. That was not the point he was trying to make.
WHo? Who has performed more than others? Who? Name them. GO ahead.

ANgel, who was the woman? What did she say? How was she derogatory? Carnegie gives out a ton of scholarships, there would be no reason for her to act in any way. I belive that you are not speaking the truth. At all.

Why don't they open for a few hours on Sunday? Some people can only go on Sunday afternoons and would like to see the exhibits.
