Yeah thats true, but what i am getting at is the fact he doesnt do things in the right manner. Mr. Justice plays the world in his game his hands really. And he thinks everyone should apply to his rules..

Business man is right... he is not in it to help the employees, he is in it to make more money and have a prestigious title. I bet he didn't buy the Greenbrier just to help out the local economy and save jobs. Produce or reduce that will be the new motto!
I disagree with you.Mr Justice does care about the Greenbrier and the employees. Yes, he is a business man but he is also a caring person.

You need to revisit this comment....he got 435 million cash they assumed 167 million debt and he got 83 million preferred shares in MECHEL - total value 1.6 BILLION WITH A "B"- The Greenbrier will never be worth that. I hope he turns the Greenbrier back into what it was or better but don't fool yourself this is all about money. He can loose money at the Greenbrier and it won't even hurt him....his dividend this year is another 230 million bucks WOW good deal Mr. Justice whoever structured that deal really earned their money.

He sold the mines to make $$$$ not to buy the Greenbrier....when he sold those mines they could not even pay their own bills......he bought the Greenbrier to make $$$$.....don't get me wrong I think it is good to make $$$$ that is what is all about, but to say he did it for the community is way off. He sold the mines to get out of a mess that his son had created for him......

I recently stayed at the Greenbrier and found the 4:15 tea to be a delightful experience. Does anyone know if the rummers about the tea ladies being laid-off is true? I understand that some of them are 3rd generation, and I feel it would be sad to end that type of tradition. Does anyone believe if Mr. Justice knew these ladies were being considered for lay-off if he would as his management team to take a different approach?

WOW, jim bought the Greenbrier hotel outright. In my opinion jim is a true wva hero. everyone stands around saying (someone needs to fix the economy) well, he is doing just that on a local scale. I think all of us owe him a huge thanks. Including all of the whiny greenbrier employee's . He just saved your jobs. Think the marriot would have kept you all employed? Let me be the first to say ....THANK YOU MR JUSTICE

you should hear the many other horror stories about the families being laid off and still not recalled to work! There is good going on but still alot of bad as well.

"karma" I see where you are coming from, but yes the Marriot would have kept us.The NEW Owner.. actually "OK"ed a lot of things the Marriot came in and offered,..therefore putting no thought into departmental issues we get cut of gratuity, insurance,vacation..LIFE. You must be one that sits behind a nice little desk that doesnt worry how you're gonna feed your family and insure them. It's hard to lose insurance after having it so long. And there could have been a way for all of us to have kept it.So take your 'WOWS and WHINY' commit and stick it.
