I hope Cahill does a good job. I really think he will try. Nobody is perfect and you can't please everybody no matter what you do. As long as he does what's best for the county that's all that matters.

Hope cahill doesn't abuse the system and use the sheriffs office for his private eye business.

Cahill is just a figure head for Betty Crookshanks and Karen Lobban....they picked him to run because they couldn't tame Childers to their bidding....wait and see, you will be sorry!

Wish Cahill the best of luck. Cahill will have to make decisions on his own this is not the State Police. A whole new ball game.

So, now will he leave his pricey clothes that voters paid for behind as property of the Sheriff's Office, or has he reported their costs as income on his tax returns already, if he claims they are personal property?
If they were part of his compensation he must report them to the IRS and pay taxes on them.

I feel Cahill will try to do a good job, but I do believe Betty and Karen recruited him to run for sheriff because they thought perhaps they could tell him what to do. I think Jim Childers did a good job, but he wouldn't do what the two girls wanted and they were out to get him - the same thing will happen to Cahill if he doesn't bend like he is supposed to. AND, Betty will soon be out, we can work on Karen next time. Hope Woody Hanna has a mind of his own!

When my husband was discussing becoming a deputy MANY years ago after getting out of the service, they had to buy their own guns and uniforms. I also know that the local city police in some of the towns buy their own uniforms so who is to say they don't still have to as deputy? Are you 100% sure he didn't?

Can anybody say police state?
Hope I'm wrong but I have the feeling that a lot of unsavory people will soon be working for the new sheriff.

i am afraid you may be correct, such as who he may name as chief deputy and dont be suprised if a private security company becomes baliff's at the courthouse, family court and magistrate court.

Good grief, we are talking civilian clothes bought with taxpayer money so he could look good, so he himself said.
Just one of many self-agrandizing abuses while in office...

Childers got SPANKED in the election! ahahahaha. This is like Mickey D's... I'm lovin' it! You really have to be a complete and utter screw up to lose when you are the incumbent!

NOT NECESSARILY!!! All you have to do is have run-ins with the almighty Betty Crooksanks and Karen Lobban and they will be gunning for you. They want to run everything. Thank God Betty will be leaving and Karen will be next. She will be out to every function soon with her little candy bars. Cahill won't last either if he doesn't "toe the mark" - so will Woody Hanna.

Sorry but I really disagree with you on this. Childers was a very well dressed man BEFORE HE EVER TOOK OFFICE, so are you saying that the Sherrifs office bought his civilian clothes before he was even in office? Really this is a petty issue and reaching for straws!

And honestly, did it ever occur to you that IF HE DID SAY THIS, he could have been being sarcastic because the county commission was accusing him of misappropriation of funds at every turn!!!! And they were proven WRONG in a court higher up!

The point is the majority of voters were sick of Jim Childers. That is why they sent him to the house. He was a mistake, a mistake in office and a mistake by his mommy. The best part of Jim Childers ran down his mothers leg after his daddy filled her up!

Really this is so pathetic it doesn't even require a response. I WOULD be careful saying such things about another human being.....someone may feel the same way about you. All I am saying is that people are being stupid with their accusations of such outlandish things...you took it to a whole different level that is just wrong.
