Actually by state law the fine for speeding is 25.00 the rest of the money goes to the county, unless they dismiss it with costs plus contribution (which is the same price of the ticket plus $) and dont turn the 25 into the state which is what happens in most cases. The only time that the county don't keep any of the money is on a seatbelt ticket. That all goes to the state.

Why not let the State of Tennessee get all the revenue that is generated from all tickets writtten on the interstate hi-way systems of Tennessee by any law enforcement department and require that revenue all be returned to the State of Tennessee and used for Tennessee Interstate road building and Tennessee Interstate repair with none of that revenue going to any Towns, Judges or Courts?

Would that stop all the wondering where the money went and just see if all those small town police or city officials were really interested in Public Safety or just the Money From those Tickets?

every body knows that corn town was just dong it for the money. Brandon did as much as say that when he said they would have to have a tax increase if they were not allowed on the interstate. check out channel four's news reports. Half of corn town's revenue comes from these tickets. Good job Billy Spivey! Governor will sign bill before July!

Can people read this report and what the county sheriff said that alone should get the Sheriff 500 to 1000 more votes, showing he is an honest man? Don't that show our County Sheriff tells it like it is and don't try to cover up for nobody!

Its a fact. Either taxes will go up or there will be less police coverage and the county Sheriff's department will have to pick up the slack.

I hope it all works out but I do not like the idea that tickets are being written just to get extra funds for a town

Well that is what has been happening. Brandon and city aldermen will have to make some tough choices. Should have already done this instead of writing all those tickets on the interstate.$250,000 dollars worth, they should be ashamed of themselves.

The officer was doing his job. If we don't have enough Dispatchers all that money the Sheriff turned back in could have hired a dispatcher. If you are speeding you need a ticket...Nuff Said!!

My opinion is, money money money. May not be true but I am guessing they loved northerners coming and going. 2 birds one stone.

As Smart and Honest as the Sheriff looks like he is by saving the Taxpayer's Money and turning that back to the County Budget every year he been in office, should he be over all the police in Marshall County?

Where is Cornersville's City Limits and speed limits signs posted on I-65? Do Cornersville City Limits even go up on I-65, to the point is Cornersville City Limits on the road under I-65 that has nothing to do with being on I-65?

Without proper signs how would anyone know they were breaking the laws of Cornersville? Now as to the LAW if one Cop is going by the book and others are not any suggestion that any not go by the book as to limiting the numbers of Marshall County dispatcher use would that not be against the Laws?

I got a ticket right at mile marker 27. I found it odd for a trap to be at the bottom of a hill and curve. On the way back from vaca at the exact same spot we saw a cop pull out with his lights on pulling someone else over. I'm not happy about this and all the information I've found out about this small town and all the dirtiness. Looks like it's been going on for years. If the safety of that "curve" which is what the officer told me was the most important then why not sit your cruiser before the curve before passengers get there. It's not ethical. And, I'm working on doing something about it. I'm not one to question the law at all but, this is not right. Thank goodness for social media and freedom of speech because I'm going as far as I can with this. I hope others do too.
