The rich will keep getting richer and the poor will keep getting poorer. Don't like it but for the most part it is the way or the world.

Yeah... I'm not a liberal and I am not a Democrat. I am a realist. The sign of a Republicant is cut, cut, cut, cut, increase more, more, more profit.

How far can you trim a bone? That is what you end up with after cutting away the meat and the fat. What now??? Make soup? Then what? You can only cut for so long until there is no more to cut away. People need to make at the minimum of $21,000 a year just to stay at poverty level. That is a SINGLE person. A family needs twice that amount. That equate to at least $21 per hour before taxes!!! If anyone is not making THAT much, they are in trouble. But you boneheads don't see that. That is also why our government is shut down, because these bonehead republicants want to hold us hostage over another issue unrelated to running the government.

Yes, let's make sure the Water Department is doing the right thing, but forcing the little guys (workers) to suffer for it is wrong, wrong, wrong!! Instead of thinking, I am suffering therefore you should also suffer, it should be, how can we make it right so everyone is NOT suffering???

YOU PEOPLE ARE SELFISH AND MAKE ME SICK!!!! Where is your compassion for the common man? Yes, we can fix this, but not as long as corporations are allowed to screw it's own workers!! We need to DEMAND that all companies/corporations pay their workers a FAIR wage!!! That is not socialism, that is responsiblism!!

If that got you sick, this will probably give you a light heart burn.
Stop the excuses, stop hiring your family and people owed favors and we all will do better. How many folks does it take to run the dept? I bet you have 20% more than you actually need. Good thing you goes don't own your own business, you would of went bankrupt a long time ago. Nice to have people and taxes to fall back on.

OMG!! Who gives a flip who is hired in. That is a non-issue! We can't do better no matter who they hire if they aren't paying a decent wage. You say "I bet" which denotes you don't know sh!t. Not trying to be mean or crass, just making a point how most have a lack of real information to make choices with. You all are speculating. Until we all come together and demand decent wages, everybody is going to get screwed by the companies!! Wake up before it comes down to riots and more!

Amen to you!!!! Just watch what is going on it DC< those Jerks, we voted in. We have to have water to drink, shower, etc....
It does cost money to manufacture water. Just like food prices go up, so does everything else. So what if they get a 2 percent raise, when was the last time they got a raise? I miss those days when I would get real pay raise and bonus, and my company really cared about me.

It's a band wagon all communities jump on whether needed and used as the citizens are told or not.
One city may have a true need for increase because of
under pricing for years. They get their increase and then many that don't need it or need serious cost
trimming jump in "with a me too" excuse and get theirs as well. All agencies want more money, more
power, more pay, more benefits, and more intrusion into private lives and pocketbooks. Never ending.

Who cares? I do, along with many others. When I speak, I leave doors open for reasons you obviously have no clue. Needless jobs are created for people who help people or are related. With costs and raises, paying people are a major factor. Why do you think local to federal government is so big? People creating jobs for folks who helped them or related to them. Now maybe you understand. Who cares? I do.
BTW, who is going to riot? Hot heads like you. and More??? What else goes through your tuff guy brain? What are you going to do? Suggestion. Work harder, get an education, maybe you will get a better job and decent wage.

I also care. Have you ever inquired how the assistant superintendent got his job? It was never posted for the public. You would love to hear their explanation, its priceless. The water dept. got two rate increases three years ago. 17% for water and 27% for sewer. Now they are wanting $10.00 which is about a 35% rate increase. Do you see a problem? All these rate increases were not for DEBT SERVICE. Some of the money was and is planned on being used for pay raises and buying other things like new trucks and NOT DEBT SERVICE. The employees of the water dept. also get their health insurance paid at 100%. What other businesses in Lewisburg, outside of government businesses, does the employer pay 100% of a persons health insurance. I am told they also have an excellent retirement benefit paid mostly by the water dept. itself.

The former posts are indeed well received. I have always been a champion for fair wages, but your points are well deserved of attention as well. Fairness is not confined to just wages, but also to equal opportunity for employment. Being a public utility, and a monopoly at that, it should be highly regulated by both government and the public at large!!! I would expect nothing more from those who are in the position to oversee the department that this fairness is enforced. I also feel that those who do not or are proven not to carry out such policies should be fined and even imprisoned for such improprieties!!! Where is the oversight???

This back scratching area is above oversight. They even have connections in other counties. You would need someone with no connections who was never from around here. That is why this area fears outsiders.

Perhaps a class action lawsuit is in need, if indeed speculated improprieties are founded. Sure, the lawyers will be the ones to reap the initial benefits, but the customers and those seeking employment could reap the benefits and ramifications of such a suit in the future. I am sure they would have to provide evidence of who applied for any jobs, who was hired and prove that those hired were done so within hiring laws and no cronyism nor nepotism played any part. Anyone bringing such a suit would have to obtain outside experienced lawyers of course. But who has the balls in this county to do such a thing??

I moved from Lewisburg and where I now live my water bill has been between 9 and 10 dollars/month. The water department has a new(less than 2 year old facility) and a fleet of new equipment about the same age. Very seldom see anyone from the water department on the streets, light staff...management?

Sounds like the results of shoddy maintenance and less than quality supervision and management.

Like one said, 100% paid benefits...damn good pay...KC assistant was hand picked with No advertising of a job opening...Damn good retirement package...with another 3% raise included from the 10 dollar rate increase....
The kicker, it is also to run a water line into Maury County for a friend...How many more counties do you know that will run a water line into another county for one person???Really...do you think Maury County would run a water line into Marshall County for one person??Does one realize.. what that expense would be??? All at the expense of Lewisburg rate payers....For one person...
If they wish to use the rate payers...why don't they dip into their own pocket???

If either one of them are real, someone needs to be looking at a court hearing or a state review of sorts. Do we have an ethics committee that can look into this before we raise our hands for outside help? If they find it legal and we still have a problem, by all means raise the flag, then we will have more people to be looked at by outside sources, which is our best chance. That of course if everything is true.

I understand it costs to maintain the system and pay employees but it's bull shit to keep increasing every damn thing. American home of the free, work your ass off & be taxed to death or mostly screw the system and draw. We're a fucked up country. Bottom line prices are increased cause leaders are getting large paychecks and bonuses & not breaking a sweat for it.
